daverclasper
Big thanks to Ray, Pete and also Bern and Ange (also Doug, for the flimsy carb diaphrams and coloured wiring diagram ). Really enjoyed the tuition and meeting other members. Bought a new car cover, though forgot to buy a set of the Courier DVD's. dougbgt6
Cheers Dave! Just PM'd you. Pete said your dynamo was playing up, hope you got home OK. Is there a dynamo thread coming up?!! Doug
daverclasper
Hi Doug. Thanks (have PM'd you). It's dynamo, control box, or loose/bad connection/s I guess. To be honest it's been like that for 5 years, since I got the car. Even longer trips have been ok, using wipers and lights. I Just charge the battery when I get home. I don't think it's difficult to check dynamo output. Will do it one day!. On Pete's advice I'll replace control box, if that seems the problem, rather than mess with it. Pete Lewis
a repro lucas A127 at around £45 may better option than a RB340 control box at £26 or a dynamator at £430 Pete

How about an alternator conversion, then you can have spot lights, fog lights and an enormous beat box stereo. Doug

dougbgt6
I took out my ammeter and replaced it with a battery condition gauge, not as much fun, but less dangerous. Doug
