How bad is this?

isn't there a picture somewhere of the triumphs all lined up outside without paint only primer?

i'm sure it happened with all car makers.

As a kid living in Canley in the early seventies, I clearly remember lots of grey Spitfire shells outside the Tile Hill factory in Torrington Avenue.

Thinking back I guess they were just in primer.

Probably got a quick wipe over to get the rain off.

Reminds of an 80`s "Barn Find". At a "Farm" (smallholding really) just off J3 . M3. 7 off MGB shells, just stacked on their Tail ends against the walls, Unpainted primer. The owner (of the Farm) was being paid for storing them (he said) for an MGB "club"?.

Paint should really only be the icing on the cake, as it were. The primer is the main rust protection and I'd like to think that it should be adequate on its' own. I've got too many Triumph parts sitting about in primer, but some have lasted almost twenty years without rust starting to appear.

we   E coat and primed MGB and other shells for the heritage at our  dunstable truck plant,  should have purloined  some

many makers stored cars all over the place and forgot they were    hiding in the undergrowth for years in farmers fields
