A not very interesting fact

Number 2  daughter's Fiesta needs a new battery ("But it's only 10 years old can I get it replaced under warranty?")  Oddly it's a 063, the same as the GT6, you wouldn't think it would you?

Yes. 

I thought the 063 was a hefty battery because it's on the 6 cylinder, maybe it isn't. Or 063 on a Fiesta is Ford over engineering?

I bought Darling Daughter a 2015 model and with a 999cc turbo engine putting out 99hp it goes like the hammers. It's kind of poetic that it uses the same battery as a car with two extra cylinders and twice the engine size that just about puts out the same performance! Wonder if it would fit in a Herald....? 

It's also nice to know that I can pinch her battery for the GT6... but - another not so interesting fact - the earlier Fiesta thermostat housings were a straight fit for the Triumph 4 cylinder.

In reality though a 063 is not original fitment on a Triumph and the real reason a lot have them fitted is that they are easily obtainable as they are a common fitment in more modern cars and they fit in albeit with the terminals at the back

I think the cheap bit is the reason.... and cheap because they were used on so many cars. Original battery would be 038/015. Tricky to find except halfords.

Funny how often the words Doug and odd are used in the same post.....
