nigenry
Triumph Diff stamped Stanpart V3182 - does anyone know what model its from? It also has the numbers 305816 LEY8 Any help appreciated
Clive
You need the stamped letters/numbers stamped (not cast) from the underside of the diff. Two letters at the start are the important ones. If not able to find it, is the input flange round or flat sided. And work out the ratio.
Colin Lindsay
The serial number is on one of the two ribs on the underside; excuse the condition of this one but it's all that came to hand...

Pete Lewis
agree http://www.team.net/www/triumph/trprefix.html what car is this your profile shows a Spit IV so a MG prefix diff is not possible without some serious changes Pete
Clive
Could it be HC?? that would tie up as it is a 3.89 ratio, essentially the same as a mkIV spit. Although the rear case would have 6 holes for spring studs rather than the spits 4. But not uncommon, the rear case swaps easily or the extra holes are blanked off. PeteH
HI I`m sure mine was GA followed by 7 numbers?. (Herald 13/60). Not Funny really, as the Canley Document identifies it (GA) as a type "A" and further states they should not be fitted to 13/60`s (which mine is). I have no information despite a large volume of previous paperwork, that the diff; was ever changed. Which suggests that it was the Factory fit?. Probably built late in 1970. Pretty sure mine did. The GT6 definitely did when I bought it, which was clearly wrong!

The Engine GK, the Gearbox CB, and the Diff; GA. Unfortunately getting to double check entails putting it back on Axle stands and crawling underneath now!. (unless I photographed it?) I may have a look later but there must be over 1000 pic`s of this refurb; by now!. Pete
Colin Lindsay
GK engine is ok for the late 13/60 but I've no record of CB on a gearbox; is it recon or from another model?
Pete Lewis
CB s not on any triumph listing but GB is of a 1200 herald variety but not the gearbox Pete
PeteH
Hi Hmm?. Strange that. I shall have to do a recheck on the stampings. As far as I can ascertain, all the Running gear is OE?. But I am now beginning to have second thoughts. Current the Gear Box is under wraps, and The diff; not that accessible. My current "obsession" is the MX seat fit`s.
