I have my 1600/6 to adjust yet! and I'm dreading it. Everyone i have spoken to say it takes hours to do the Bonnet, Valance and Doors?

I waited nearly 2 years to get a Barrel & Key! Due to Covid they stopped manufacturing! Found a second hand one 6 months ago, to find the they started Manufacturing 2 weeks later LOL!

Hi! That happened to me a couple of weeks ago! Tried starting the car and it just sort of clicked and would not start! So checked the thick black cable from the solenoid to the starter and found that the screw brass connection to the starter was loose! Took the Starter Out took the backing plate out and tightened the brass screw! I was actually going to change the Bushes but Rimmer sent me the wrong ones for the Starter(mine were triangle ones and the sent me oblong!!) so cleaned those up. Cleaned the Bendex, Fitted it all back together and fitted Starter Motor, guess what!! She started first time LOL!!

Some of the reasons the Supermarkets like Tesco, ASDA , Morrisons close is to keep a certain amount of Fuel back to allow their own Delivery Service to keep going!

My brother has the "Rocker" now! He has a Mk2 Vitesse, I will keep as original! Thanks for every ones input!

Well! I took the Tunnel off the car "Sat on the front wheel and started to undo the Starter Bolts!(with my walking stick resting just in case) What a pain! They kept spinning so I had my son with a spanner in the car and we managed to undo the bolts an remove the Starter motor! It was stinking! So I've now cleaned inside the Bell housing, the Bendix was cleaned with Brake Cleaner and has now dried. I know need to sit down at a table and dismantle the Starter enabling me to fit the New Bush Set! Might have a go tomorrow??

Hi Pete! The "Chrome Rocker" looks like the one in the photo, but my "Original" Rocker where the Chrome Filler Cap is on yours! mine has a large 4" Funnel with a large Bulbous Breather Cap! ??

Adrian! Your not being rude and calling me a "Spanner" are you LOL. As it stands. I was not able to remove the Bolts as I have no energy! so I have ordered a complete set of Bushes and a new set of bolts , so when i am okay I will have the bits to start and finish the Starter.

Hi All! Can someone let me know what size are the Starter Motor Spacer Bolts x 2 are please! Theyre a bugger to undo and I would like to order some before I start??

Just realised that my Rocker has a large pipe coming up and a large Bulbus Oil Filler Cap, so it is completely different LOL! Never mind |I'll sell it to my brother for his Mk2!! Cheers Gents

Hi Just aquired a second hand "Chrome" Rocker Cover! Unfortunately it has a "Breather Pipe"? Can anyone advise which is the best way to block it off please as my original Rocker does not have one??

Thing is I had the engine stripped as the Head gasket had blown and had a bent the Rod! Put it all back together, changed the Gaskets on the Gearbox put all that back together and she started fine! I ran the engine twice now the Starters Knackered! What a pain!!

I'm planning all this, as I have been off work since October! Had Knee Op went back to work for one day in December and got rushed in to Hospital with Sepsis! Been at home ever since! They found I had a "AF" Heart problem and now they have cancelled my Prostate Operation for at least 6-12 months. Thought I would have had the Car completed by know for the Shows! Looks like I will be off another 2 months yet! But thats life!!

Yep! I think I will have to take the tunnel out! Only just put it back in LOL! Is it worth putting the Original Starter back in or Buying a new one?

My Starter Motor is not engaging, so I need to remove it and clean it! Is there a "Quick & Easy" way of removing it please?? Without a Ramp??

I had a "footrest" on my Vitesse 1600/6 when I purchased the car? It is now sitting in my Spares Bin as I was thinking of refitting it at a later date??
