  1. Are you thinkling of these people? https://www.ebay.fr/str/jfcustoms/TRIUMPH/_i.html?store_cat=1122040016 I bought a pair of covers for the sun visors in my 13/60 convertible from them in 2017. They are less then 1 mile from where I used to live before moving here
  2. Cost saving. Look at the panels they simply turn round and fit to the other side, front end & back end are also the same, just fit different light clusters. The number of parts is kept to the minimum.
  3. I feel sorry for the owner coming back to the car after having a few too many apperos and trying to figure out which end is which
  4. Yes and no. One side, the driver's side (on a LHD) is but the passenger side no. I would have thought better to loose the passenger rather than the driver.
  5. Au contraire. It probably helps - the young ladies won't have to were a crash helmet and hence ruin their hairstyle, they'll be warm and dry. OK, so the lady friend will want it parked well away from where anyone will see her get out of it
  6. At least with the NZ car you could easily tell the front from the back. A local teenager (14 or 15) near me has one of these, I guess parents think it's safer than a motor scooter or bike
  7. That's a bold statement! It is certainly 'different'. Good luck to the team working on it an interesting project.
  8. Same here, got fed up with having to fight the cap to get it off even though each time I refit it I do so very lightly . .
  9. Some sources actually stated that their GMC205 is TRW, but they didn't have the other bits I wanted as well. When I got my 13/60 in 2015 there was no extension and I've had no problems. I sourced an extension piece a few months ago for the sake of 'originality' rather than the need for extra capacity.
  10. Thanks for the details Nonmember, some I knew some new to me. You caught me before I went for my drink with a mate, he is running late . . I think I'll go for the 205Z as that looks closest to what is fitted and hope the reservoir extension on the current unit fits 🤞
  11. No problem with clearances. "Z" denotes it's a 'cheap' copy (64€), the 205 is original quality (104€) The 220 is 73€ The closest in appearance is the 205, with or without the 'Z', although strickly a 13/60 should have the 220 . . . Well, lunch calls then a meet with a mate over a glass or two. . .
  12. Just got a reply from my supplier : GMC220 : imperial GMC205 : 0-3/8 UNF GMC205Z : 0-3/8 UNF So I guess any will do. The 220 is the larger capacity version which is the specified one for the 13/60 disc calipers. The 205/205Z is smaller capacity but I do have the extension piece, if it fits. Looking at the photos the 220 reservoir is vertical to the body, the others have a slight lean back - as does the one fitted to the car. Does the angle matter that much? Hey, ho. Easy answer - buy all 3 . . . I'd rather not though Come on guys help me out here before my brain explodes 🤯
  13. I've sent message to my supplier with details of the unit to be replaced and asked which of the 3 references they have in stock have the same thread as it has. I assume mine is imperial as it is a Girling Cambrian 6 unit. Knowing my luck the only one that is compatible will be the most expensive 🙄
  14. Thanks for the replies everyone, something to mull over. . . I won't be going over to silicone Now I am a bit concerned about that. I am hoping that the new cylinder would have the same thread as the unit coming out so a straight swap. The unit fitted is a Girling 5/8 unit for the moment I haven't a make for the replacement but from Pete's comments the threads may not be the same? More work than I was hoping for.
  15. Good morning one and all. I'm going to replace the master cylinder and wondered if anyone has any tips as to how to reduce/stop air getting into the system while changing over the cylinders. As soon as the brake pipe is disconnected the end should be capped to stop air getting into the pipe, I assume. I also thought that putting some fluid into the new cylinder and pumping it through before connecting the brake pipe would help. clearly protecting the paintwork from spills is a must. I have done a pre check of the bolts holding the cylinder and they aren't siezed, the nut holding the pipe is also ok. I was surprised to find it needed a 10mm spanner, I assumed imperial like the bolts, is that standard? Thanks for any pointers.
  16. Maybe I need to do that with the TRIUMPH letters on the bonnet, I would hate it someone stole the 'I' & 'H' 😁
  17. I just keep the bonnet closed so I don't see inside 😁 I do actually like to keep it clean(ish)
  18. Same here, living abroad I won't be taking part in any of the events, the club shop won't be of use due to post Brexit changes. The forum is THE thing in the club for me. Is there some way of seeing on threads if the subject is in the members only section or in the open areas? Is there also a problem, as suggested above that is stopping some from seeing some areas open to all?
  19. Very true 😁 Seriously though a lot of very good advice and info is available here, and a good few laughs as well. Welcome aboard
  20. How about this one, it's very rare - allegedly 🙄
  21. To accept defeat means that I have to be in the competition/battle to start with. I know better than to do that after all these years. If the weather is good it's a nice run out in the Triumph, if not I will have to stay at home to clean the house/do DIY/feed the cats/garden or other such excuses reasons for not going
  22. Same here. My wife does get time off from me being around. She likes to travel! This year started with her being in Mexico, travelling back on my birthday. The itch is starting again and the webby thing is getting hit. In June she goes off for her 3 weeks annual 'cure thermale'. I take her there (Bagnoles de L'Orne) about 1 1/4 hours away and normally just pop over for her day off each Sunday when we go out to a restaurant for lunch AND I stock her up with food for the following week. This year she has booked 'demi pension', so according to her I don't need to bother myself by going over. .
  23. I'm better trained than you - I know what time my wife wants her coffee and tea breaks and 'deliver' it on time. Even if I go out I arrange to be back on time to make her tea ( I don't go out before coffee). However I am allowed 2 days off per year when I can go off in the Triumph plus 1 day a month during the season . . .
  24. That's the sort of thing, the correct item should be available from the usual suppliers.
