trigolf
Evening all. I'm nipping down to Euro car parts tomorrow to get an oil filter for my Vit with spin on adapter. I've seen Mann 714/2 mentioned here before as suitable, but to save time in the shop, what car make model year is it listed for? johny
Ha, I see Eurocarparts are doing the Crossland version of the 714/2 for 71p each!
Paul H
The Mann 714/2 filter is the one I had serious issues with my Vitesse . I couldn’t get any oil pressure . Paul
johny
Its certainly got double non return valves and I suppose these could hold back air on inital start of the pump so that it struggles to prime with oil...
daverclasper
I bought 3x W714/2's a few years ago, no probs with the 1st one (a post on here or CT, a while back, with reasons, about why it's advantageous to change filter every second oil change, Nick Jones (I think) thought it made sense, so that's good enough for me and saves cash, especially as mileage, around 2000 a year). Just fitted the second a few days ago and got oil pressure after a bit of cranking. Was holding my breath, after the problem you had Paul.
Nick Jones
I’ve using the 714/2 for a while - since I needed to find a shorter one than the 724/1 I used previously. Never had any priming problems. There are many many filters that will work. Nick
johny
I think it might only happen when theres a combination of factors such as the filter NRV resisting more to open (either through design or manufacture) plus an oil pump thats well drained or dry and maybe worn...
