the hammerite they produce is nothing  like the old stuff is oil based ,thinned with white spirit , unlike the original which was a 1k formula . have  tin of the good stuff in yellow if any use to someone paul

Yep, still have some old red that I am nurturing for 'that day'. I believe that it used to have arsenic or one of the other poisons in it in one form or another.

Not to hijack the thread TOO much but if cars could be sold in some strange colours back in the day, then things can only get better. Not only did some have a pink dashboard but subsequent owners have often.... improved... things on the original. So: there are all sorts out there, and one man's mucky brown is another man's Sahara Sand...

Watching an old Bergerac last night. One of the characters was driving an MG painted in brown. Don't know what the official designation was but what immediately came to mind was diahorrea drab.
