Charlie Franklin-Martyn
Hello! I have recently gotten around to sorting out the key situation on my herald. I have no keys for the car. Does anyone know the type of cylinders used for these cars? Does anyone sell a set so I can swap all of the cylinders out for a matching set? Thanks in advance! Pete Lewis
all the key barrels ( door locks ignition and cubby and boot )are removable and they are marked with a key number you can buy keys to match or buy a full barrel and key set to replace the unkowns most suppliers sell the barrels eg canley classics Pete Find all the parts to keep your Triumph running through into winter Home / Spare Parts Spare Parts Our catalogues are online versions of the original spare parts catalogues produced by Triumph. Josef
You’ll find it hard work to get anyone to sell you a matching set (for the herald the ignition and door keys were a pair as were the boot and glovebox keys). However, it’s relatively simple to reorganise the tumblers in the barrels to re-key a lock to fit a different key.
Charlie Franklin-Martyn
Thanks to you both for the help I will look into both of these options.
Colin Lindsay
Get the number off the barrel face, there are numerous companies who will cut the corresponding key.
dougbgt6
I reorganised my tumblers so one key fits all locks, fiddly, but fairly simple to do. Doug

Doug 👍 Like wise, many moons ago, just needs some patience. If one is stubborn a fine file is the cure. Pete

Now, if any of you guys are passing by for Le Mans next year and want a cup of tea . .
