Darren Groves
Apart from the old fashioned method of a length of tube and your ear, or the Gunson Carb Balancer are there and other methods/tools that people use for balancing their carbs? KevinR
What you need is a Crypton B89 Syncro Check flow meter http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Crypton-Synchro-Check-Model-B89-/221992440059?hash=item33afc7d0fb:g:BOQAAOSwwPhWlCZ~
AndyTV8
i'v used a crypton one, as in Kevin's link, for years - the only thing i don't like is that it is quick restrictive to the intake..... i'm told that some find these a better bet: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carb-sync-tool-air-flow-meter-Weber-delortto-IDF-DRLA-etc-/252231523420 ..... Pete Lewis
Or go back to how the carbs were sent to the engine line , idle stops preset to a simple equal mechanical setting of the idle screw and jets down to prescribed pre setting in general if the throttle plates are both set to the same position and theres no leaks from wear the gauges should confirm /give you reasonably equal readings Once youre off idle the balance is pretty immaterial
rogerguzzi
Hello Darren I have one of these and find it very good as you can balance the carb,s at tick over and then check that the inter connecting links are set right by doing a 2000rpm ish check on the balance and adjust as needed. http://www.ebay.co.u...c-/252231523420 Roger
Pete Lewis
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carb-Sync-for-Multi-Carburetor-VW-Volkswagen-Triumph-/190737045341?hash=item2c68d0575d:m:mOpSTmrBAZ_gUdgUrNanxZg I have had one of these for years cheap and effective, no plastic to age but still stick to basics as first principle Pete
Gully
I have the same tool Pete has identified - bought it from Chic Doig on EBay. Very simple to use. Gully
