FranksVitesse
Our dog is happy to ride on the back seat of our vitesse with the hood up but now the weather is warmer I like it down. This question has probably been covered before but how do you safely secure a dog on the back seat with the top down? ,,
Pete Lewis
im sure there is a dog safety harness you can couple into the seat belt maybe a lap belt as CV rear belts are not easy Pete
Paul H
I clip the 2 rear seat belts ( lap belts) together and clip the dog harness to the seat belt joined section Paul
andybeau
Plenty of options if you search dog harness for car. We have a harness with a short lead that gets put through seat belt
68vitesse
Anything or anybody unsecured in the car is an unguided missile in the event of an accident. Regards Paul
PeteH
Subject comes up on Motorhome/Camper sites regularly. Mine is quite happy on the back seat but I too would be looking at a restraint system for a open top car. Year`s ago you could get a Net that attached to seat backs?, and the rear seat restraints. I suppose a Harness clipped to a strong point is the easiest solution?. Typical are these on the Pets at Home site :- https://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/dog/dog-collars-harnesses-leads-and-tags/dog-seatbelts-and-car-harnesses Pete
fungus
As far as I am aware it is a legal requirement to have your dog (pet) tethered in a moving vehicle. And there doesn't seem to be any exceptions for vehicle age. Having said that a company called Miki used to make dog car harness that had actually been tested... Not sure how. But they were very strong and fitted really well.
