Darren Groves
Has anyone fitted these? http://r.ebay.com/TYZV5U Presumably they just extend the operating arm to increase leverage? Anyone know by how much they extend the arm?
Pete Lewis
these have been around on and off for some years, these are very expensive, you also have to take in consideration how much load you are now about doubling whats designed through the orig levers and shoe web. something downstream may decide to buckle . if set correctly the std set up can just produce the correct % all beit only just , I guess someone out there has used them with some hope Pete
Darren Groves
They are pricey, so I was thinking it would be quite simple (and free) to cut an existing arm, add a small section to increase the length and weld up again to give you the same result. Was also wondering how much to increase the length by.
KevinR
They should not be necessary if the brakes have been setup properly.
Clive
I believe dolomite and another model (brain fade on that!) all have different lengths, so there are ready made alternatives without welding. And make the pointa bit of extra should be perfectly OK. I would add about 1/2" but be aware you will need to adjust the brakes more often. But also make sure everything is working spot on. It makes a world of difference. I recently welded up some arms to repair worn bits, cleaned/lubricated and readjusted everything. Vast improvement (despite passing MoT as was)
Darren Groves
I always find the handbrake perfectly OK, but every year seems to be an issue at MoT. Just considering to avoid the annual discussion with the tester!
Kev Makin
I Saw these on 'TRIUMPH VITESSE PAGE' facebook by Iain Macpherson he's extended them by 3/4"
Dave pb
I fitted something very very similar to my TR4A, and they made a very noticeable difference. I'd recommend them. Dave ====
