This was a good weekend if I remember correctly. my two cuzsons and my brother went with mun and dad caravan, towed by pauls vitesse, one evening there was a BBQ. we also brought up a barrel of beer from somerset and another group brought one from up north I think. good times..... sorry about the music. just some random stuff as the film was silent. DVD3500
Is this a good time to point out I wasn't even 10 years old in 1979? 🙂

Colin Lindsay
'Tripe to Stoneleigh..." Amazing to think that some of the cars there were actually brand new current models. Same as Classic Shows today, I suppose... Wonder how many of those Triumphs survive? Great post from Fungus, many thanks for sharing.

I've checked 3 of the Vitesse's and 2 are still taxed🙂 BFM 49G (Sure I've seen this in the Concour's at Stafford in the Noughties?) FMH 371J (Seen this on the front cover of the Courier in the 1980's and in one of the old Turning Circle magazines) DVT 784J (John Griffiths Race Vitesse, was featured in the Courier a few years ago being repaired after an accident?) Great footage, I can just about remember the Custom Car craze of the late 70's? My Ex-Brother-in-law had a 1300 Ford Escort (ANU 210G I think) with furry Dashboard and wheel arches you wouldn't believe!😁😂🤣, Thanks for posting Gary

Regards Gary Don't think so. not sure the year it happend. Paul was married then so would have been after 1980 and had move to Radstock so that was about 1981. here it is pictured out side his garage. don't know when stafford shows started but this would have been 81-82 at the latest. he bought a Triumph Acclaim after that. Just used to ride round behind the seats of my aunts spitfire, don't think i could get away with that nowadays!😜 It's funny but back when I started in Triumphs parts sold for pennies; Stafford was a great place to attend with an extensive shopping list and many times I came home with a bootful of large bits and pieces, bought on impulse. Now the same parts go for big money and many are unobtainable. If only we'd known! (If only I'd kept many of the parts I sold on eBay years ago - they're worth far more now when I need them for other cars!)
fungus
Thats the main reason I haven't sold any of my herald bits. I'm not sure what I will need. only stuff that I know I will not need. gets sold, and a lot of that is bits from pauls vitesse that I still have in boxes. and we have moved house four times, carting all this stuff around. SWMBO mansions it every time. 🤐 I did sell some new old stock I bought at the beauliegh autojumble back in 83. it had a ticket on it for £4.00 I sold it for £96 on flebay 2 years ago and the purcheser paid for it to go to Australia all good fun
