avivalasvegas
Question for the wise: Did the GT6 come factory equipped with a VCV valve? I'm struggling to explain why my hose connection was capped off (image below). Is there a benefit from deletion or conversely, inclusion?
Pete Lewis
if you mean the vacuum advance on the dizzy then yes all cars had this does the fact you have SU fitted mean there is no vac outlet to connect up to the dizzy??? these give with luck around +4mpg as they are a economy device and maximise advance when at cruising throttle openings the vac unit has no effect on performance just fuel consumption Pete

Clive
Yes, Gt6 had a PCV valve, however, no sign of the boss on yours. But thne again your manifold has been modified to take those HS6 carbs... And the HS6's have small pipes for pulling the crankcase gases out. Which appear to be connected correctly? So you have the system from a later type of Triumph (no problem with that)

And there's no PCV on the Mk3. So no problem with the setup on your car! Nigel
NonMember
The Mk1 had a PCV, possibly the Mk2, but not the Mk3, as Nigel says.
Stratton Jimmer
Here are a few shots of my GT6 and before anyone has a go, the pancake filters are not the right ones but just a spare set I had lying around which are better than nothing. Hopefully you can see the vacuum line from the AUD604F leading across to the dizzy.
