  1. Just a few Triumphs representing the marque at SBCV show at The Cross Keys, Pulloxhill, on Sunday. Generally classic turnout was lower than previous years with many owners probably deterred by the intermittent rain showers.
  2. Thanks Mike, I don't have any overheating problems, just an irritating small leak from the filler neck joint. Nick
  3. Has anyone used one of the aluminium radiators advertised frequently on ebay for around £185-£195 ? They seem to be sourced from China via The Netherlands.
  4. I remember similar warnings about the torsion bar suspension in several of my previous cars. Used torsion bars must always be kept to the same side and never marked or scratched. Does that mean it is unwise to buy any used shafts unless very certain which side they have been used on ?
  5. Kempston Radiators are both long established and well recommended. Can you remember what price they quoted to give me a clue as to what mine might be? Nick
  6. Fine drizzle since this morning. Not a good sign for the Pirton Classic Meet due to start shortly this afternoon/evening. They normally get a very good turn-out of classics but guess the rain will dampen enthusiasm.
  7. My GT6 has an irritating small leak at the filler neck joint caused when we lifted the engine to change mounts. Otherwise the radiator is in perfect condition. Amateur efforts to solder repair the leak always seem to fail once pressure builds in the system. 1) Are there any recommended radiator repairers close to North Herts who would be prepared to carry out a small repair at a reasonable price? 2) Are the Chinese (?) aluminium radiators advertised at £195 nearly everywhere on ebay reasonable quality and effective? 3) Any other suggestions please (NOT RADWELD!)? Nick

    Why?

Same thing has just happened to a Triumph GT6 stolen in Bishops Stortford recently:
  9. Unfortunately found burnt out in Thaxted:
  10. Hi and welcome. Love the Spit's name !
  11. Try Burlen Services https://burlen.co.uk/
  12. ... so now I have to move it back up again, where I preferred it, do I ?
  13. .... I have now been warned that with the large grille spacing my radiator is vulnerable to stones and road debris .....
  14. Nasty ! Glad you and the car both escaped relatively unharmed.
  15. I have taken aboard several comments about my number plate location. Despite not appearing to have an overheating problem the plate has now been lowered to fully expose the radiator intake. Thanks for the advice.
  16. Thanks all. Got new nuts and washers on order from Rimmer and will investigate further once they arrive.
  17. Can some kind person please advise the torque setting for tightening the rear hub nuts on a Rotoflex GT6 Mk3. We appear to have a slack bearing on the offside hub.
  18. Pete, It had been noticed. I didn't want a posse of vigilantes chasing me as the suspected car thief! Nick
  19. Whilst my GT6 Mk3 is having it's annual service and inspection we noticed that the nearside rear trunnion had a grease nipple fitted whereas the offside had no nipple or even drilling for a nipple . Can anyone advise which is correct for a 1971 Rotoflex GT6 Mk3, please ? The offside trunnion bushes also look very suspect so I will probably have these replaced pdq.
  20. Repeating a "Stolen in Bishops Stortford" message from Gary Aldam on TSSC Facebook page:
