68vitesse
Been given these two four inch gauges. The rev counter RVI 2631/00 Negative earth with paper label on back 401 Oil etc? IP 3225/00A paper labels 151 and 131 Oil pressure is capillary tube type. Any ideas from what?. Regards Paul.
Josef
The rev counter is for an early (mid?) Triumph 2000. Same instrument style as the Stag Mk1. I think the earlier 2000/Dolly ranges had those three in one gauges, but I’m really not up on those cars enough to be sure.
Colin Lindsay
Lower one may be 2000 - that oil gauge has been added (different pointer) as sometimes they were blanked off in various models across many makes (see photo), then other gauges added in as an upgrade. I like those triple gauges, am fitting one in my Herald at present.
68vitesse
Thanks for the replies, won't be fitting them to my Vitesse. Regards Paul.
Pete Lewis
as Smiths were the gauges to use across the whole of the lost UK car manufacturers they could be from any/many marques not that many used a 6 cyl electronic tacho big saloon in triumph but other makers ????? Nigel Clark
That tacho is electronic and marked 6 cylinder. The red line is at 6,000rpm making it for a 2000 engine (2500 red lined at 5,500rpm). My guess is that its from a late 2000 saloon or estate. thescrapman
Going to differ with you Nigel, Rev counter is PFL Mk2 2.5 PI. No PFL 2000 has a rev counter. May have been a FL 2000 with the “S” type dash. I think the 3 part gauge may be from a Ford?

I was trying to think if any 2000 had a rev counter, not sure if any ever did. That one is definitely PFL Mk2 2.5PI.
