Paul H
Assuming you don’t have a WSM you can download one free from this link . VitesseSteve site is a valuable source of info for our Triumphs http://vitessesteve.co.uk/ Paul
Colin Lindsay
10 hours ago, stebec said: How to take it off and anything I need to look out for Fairly straightforward once you've removed the carbs and cables, it's just unscrewing nuts and metal clamps from studs, although some of the lower / underneath nuts can be hard to reach, and you may need a slim-wall socket to clear the edges of the manifold. It's in two parts, inlet and exhaust, and the exhaust is held on by two outer studs and clamps at the centre. If you're only removing it to work on the head you don't need to remove the exhaust first, just let it drop out of the way. Make sure you hang on to the nuts and spring washers unless you have replacements close to hand, and note where the clamps go before removal. DanMi
very similar, just that the early spits (1147cc) had a 6 port head so a slightly different arrangement

stebec
Fitting a new exhaust this week with a branch manifold, should i use the gasket that comes with it or I’m better using gasket sealer? Also should i use Exhaust paste for the joints on the Exhaust
Pete Lewis
any sealer on a exhaust gasket will break down and make a blow as for the collectors these have many designs some are slip joints to allow for expansion some have a clamp you can use a past on these but they can be notoriously leaky and noisy and can drive you nuts pete
JohnD
Start by removing the silencer. Then, moving forward, the exhaust pipe. THEN, the manifold. Good luck! John
