Unkel Kunkel
Can you have too many vices? The best vices seem to be old, cheap and came from Sheffield. I have just given in to a another vice. I couldn’t refuse a free Record No 34. I already have a Record No 23 .It was my father’s and he got it second hand in the 1940s. It works just fine. It’s just like this one in a 1936 catalogue: They still make one (well it looks the same ) 49/- (shillings to you youngsters ) wasn’t cheap in 1936, but now ...... £370 - and more in some places! No wonder people buy the Chinese ones made out of cheese for a few quid..

Paul H
Ive got a Record 35 which my son picked up secondhand . He gave it to me as a birthday present though only on the basis I left it to him in my will - He was serious - Paul
Badwolf
I have a old school work bench. Made out of beech, 6 foot square with a record vice at each corner... yes four of them. Unfortuately it was a woodworking bench so the vices are not too good for steel, or flattening quarter inch steel plate (see nose to tail thread) but still very useful. Try saying that on a tube of wine gums.. Tony.
Colin Lindsay
One for each foot, one for each arm... you never know what goes on in that garage. This is the way he used to do it... before he got all those vices....
