Overdrive drain plug won't move GT6

standing a gearbox on its end is not the best idea as any debris ends up it the bearing

up end to drain via the box drain is ok but not 'on end'

new plugs are available , and they dont need to be very tight ,  too many gorilla's around seem to think wraunching up everything is normal

You could easily MIG weld a large nut on to   the drain plug. The heat shouldn't do any damage - The ali casting would be a massive heat sink

Roger, it's a cast iron gearbox housing on the GT6. Heavy metal. Most were fitted with the hex nut magnetic drain plug from new. Some of the recon people used to take these off and fit the older square non-magnetic type!

I agree if the plug is rounded off then weld a big nut on.
