martyn wright
Hi! Anyone know what a Front Number Plate brackets looks like and where I can get one?
Clive
My vitesse had the number plate fitted direct to the front valance, no brackets. And indeed the several heralds I have owned.
PeteH
The Moulded F/G one on my 13/60, has a moulded in section below the Rad opening to take a Standard No Plate?. screws straight to the Valance. Pete
Colin Lindsay
These came off my 1200 convertible; just one screw through the valence then they angle to keep the number plate vertical, which is just glued in place. I remember thinking I could buy two £1 wallpaper scrapers and make them from the blades...
NonMember
As Clive and Pete said, on my Vitesse the front plate is directly on the valance. On the Spitfire it needs brackets because the valance is curved and slanted. The originals were bent beyond repair but, along similar lines to Colin's thoughts, a couple of B&Q 40mm angle brackets did the job nicely. Pete Lewis
mine had a FG valence and used two nasty bits of U shaped bent metal to align the plate Pete
