Yes, and even they suffer "redundancy",

Don't start me on Microsoft Office, where my two copies decided they no longer wanted to work following a software upgrade to the Mac OS. One had cost me £80, the other came with a Mac I bought second-hand. I phoned Microsoft who told me they no longer supported Office 2011, and the only option is to 'rent' a copy of their latest (you don't buy it any more?) so that's that. Tough.

Imagine if someone somewhere decided to do that with Triumphs? Your Classic is no longer compatible with our fuel but instead of helping you, you'll just have to scrap it and buy a newer car.

Isn't that just what the powers that be are doing, the 'our fuel' being electricity .......

It's always easy to slag off the young (I remember reading a mediaeval account doing just this, so it's nothing new), but the young men opposite and next door to me have variously replaced front struts, discs and calipers, a radiator and, of course, in-car entertainment(!), so there are those, like us, who can and do carry out their own repairs. They each have a VW Polo, so probably a modern equivalent of the Minis, Escorts, Triumphs and Morris Minors we cut our teeth on.  But even if they wanted to, could they afford a 'proper' classic? No. Will they get insured? No. So this will have to wait until they've paid off student loans, mortgages and put the children through higher education, if they take that route. So we just need to keep our cars going for another thirty years or so, and there will be buyers for them. No fuel to run 'em on, mind you...😲

Almost any fruit will ferment and produce some form of alcohol in low content. Then we can distil it using solar power to obtain the alcohol. Don't drink it! I know all this is illegal but it is becoming very tempting. May be able to produce enough in the week for a Sunday drive.

Anybody working on Hydrogen conversion yet?
