  1. I would e mail them direct in Holland, I did when I had an issue with the usb board on one i had fell off. They were helpful. S
  2. Got an Aldi one delivered today,£14.99 and it looks really good, and it is dual scale.Made in Austria with a 3 year warranty, Steve
  3. Replaced the rear cylinder and shoes last Friday, had a go at bleeding today. Gave up on the Eezibleed as whatever I tried I couldn`t get a good seal, just succeeded in spraying a fine mist of fluid around. In the end I used an 8 foot length of 2 x 2 wood to press the pedal whilst I undid and did up the bleed valves, seems to have worked. I can say the new BCC 4 pot callipers seem to be a big improvement in braking, time will tell. Steve
  4. I had a 305 Van 1.9D non turbo, it was fantastic, drove it all over Europe when i worked for Cisco, died at 200K due to suspension failure. Chap i bought it from was a Farrier, apart from the smell of Horse S**t it was brilliant. S
  5. I decided to use the old cap to drill as the new one looked better and fits perfectly, there is a dimple in the centre of the cap with an air hole in it, I drilled just off centre and fitted the pipe there, it has 2 copper washers either side of the cap and nut, I will try it to make sure it seals. I sealed the air hole with mastic. When I visited to lockup to get the old cap off I noticed the master cylinder was empty, a week ago when I adjusted the handbrake cable and put the drum back on I filled the MC up. Bugger, where that has gone I will have to investigate, I suspect the rear wheel cylinder might be leaking as I stupidly pumped the pedal not realising I still had the drum off and the cylinder piston popped out of the body. Pushed it back with swan neck grips. Steve
  6. Thanks UK, new one delivered this morning, quality looks pretty good so i will compare it with the original one, I am a bit loathed to drill the original so I will probably use the new one for the Bleeder, car is in a lockup so i will check it later today,. Steve
  7. Mine has had silicon fluid for over 10 years so should be ok. Ordered a spare cap from ANG parts, will modify the least best looking one for the Eezibleed as both my cars have the same MC. S
  8. Hi Clive, Yes alloy body and cap.
  9. As mentioned it has a Vitesse master so larger than the spares that came with it,glad it was only £20. Might try and improvise somehow. So after reading the instructions, it just pumps fluid with air from a tyre and constantly tops up from the bottle with fresh fluid in?. So topping up the MC not needed?. S
  10. Bought an Eezibleed after a recommendation,i have been struggling to bleed my Heralds rebuilt braking on my own and...the cap options don`t include one to fit mine. (Vitesse Master cylinder).Anyone need an Eezibleed for their non Triumph?. S
  11. The same Valencia can look different in different light, my Vitesse is the same. Painted in Cellulose about 12 years ago, some people thinks it`s Blue and some think it`s Green. Lasted well though. I wouldn`t go by the Cap colour, probably just generic Blue. Steve
  12. I could have written that sentence, i have exactly the same in my garage. And Clive...I forgot about the 10 various 6 and 4 pot Vandervell sets i have in my wardrobe, along with a Les Leston and a Formula wheel, neither wheel has ever been near either of my cars as i think they are too big. Steve Steve
  13. I have been pondering my lockup for a year now, with limited time, no light or power and 2 break ins. Is it time to clear out. Also family issues have left me pretty low in mood which doesn`t help. This also contributed to lack of use of the cars as mentioned in another thread. I have the original MK 1 Engine for my Vitesse (now 2.5,owned since 1985). The original GE engine for my Herald (now 1500) which came to me with no head on after a 30 year layup which see it seized solid. I have a very early MK 2 PI engine which I went all the way to Devon to pickup years ago for no apparent reason. That's along with seats, diffs, courier spring, dashboards, 2 x TT rocker covers and god knows what else i have forgotten. What do people think?. This is not an advert, I'm interested in other peoples experiences. Steve
  14. Usage for me, i am ashamed to say not much. I seem to be working more now than 20 years ago in my 30`s.Loss of storage has meant not much opportunity to work on my 2 cars either.A house move may be on the cards to get more space. Going to Brooklands on New Years day though. And my Vitesse will be a wedding car to the chapel in Windsor Great Park in June. S
  15. Ford ST170 with Subaru diff and CV shafts iirc?. S
  16. Can`t tell you about differences but i can tell you what i did when putting a 2.5 in my Vitesse with a saloon box. I used the Vitesse flywheel to save weight as the Saloon one is thicker and the same weight as the moon. The spigot bush had to be machined into the Vitesse flywheel. Then the issue was the length of the bearing carrier, with the Vitesse one there was too much travel,i had to experiment with the shorter one but ended up with a mid size one,not sure what it`s from but i can probably find a picture.Obviously this involved hoiking the box out several times.A pain. All good but it only lasted 10k miles before the clutch was worn out so now i have a paddle clutch. Steve
  17. I can tell you that when i was experimenting with senders for my 13/60,I bought 3 x GTR108 from 3 different suppliers to measure the resistance. They varied between 560 Ohms to 800 odd Ohms.(Cold) This translated to gauge needle readings when at running temperature of 3/4, just over 1/3 and about half way on the gauge. I used the lowest one. S
  18. No good for you in the sticks but where i work in Soho there is what i would call an old school locksmiths, with a whole wall of blank keys,i got ignition, door and petrol cap spares for my Herald and Vitesse on the spot, and not from a cutting machine that copied them, just a code they put in a machine. God I`m old. S
  19. I just replaced my 11/16 Britool socket from a set i have, broken whilst standing on the ratchet trying to undo a wheel nut on my Passat, the socket split. Bought a 40 year old Snap on one for £4 on e bay. I have a set of imperial ratchet spanners(flexi head) of unknown make, invaluable recently for doing up the engine valance nuts on my Vitesse on the manifold side with zero space to get your hand in. S
  20. If the cup moved that much and the circlip won`t seat, you need to check you haven`t got a stray roller from the bearing under the cup. Steve
  21. Ok I`m going Koni, (sorry Pete). Would it be GDA4011 for non roto Herald/Vit or 80-1717 for Mini as mentioned in other topics for Roto using the MK 1 top mounts with no extension brackets?. My Vitesse uses the same shocks as before when I CV`d it so i guess the GDA4011?.. Thanks Steve
  22. Anyone recommend new rear shocks for my 13/60 as i am rebuilding after completing the front.Preferably adjustable damping. It`s standard swing axle at present BUT, I will be converting to Roto-CV shafts soon so they need to fit with that when I change the wishbones. Also it will have a Courier spring with 1 inch lowering block. I have the same setup on my MK 1 Vitesse but that has Spax from 1986 so I`m sure a lot has changed in availability. Cheers Steve
  23. My local classic friendly garage, where the owner and his work partner are both at retiring age, cannot get any decent labour to help, he just sacked a chap he had working for a few years who suddenly developed a habit of forgetting to put things back together properly. He told me he did 2 Fiat clutches and forgot to bolt the gearbox back in properly, both fell out, one was trash and the other recoverable. Cost him a lot of time and money to put right. I have a cousin locally who painted both my cars and does great work, he`s a Mini man mainly.Sadly a bit far from the original poster. S
  24. Don't know it it helps but when I fitted Led stop and tails to my Vitesse the sidelights and indicators came on when the pedal was pressed.Turned out to be just the earth loop on the back of the rear light was not getting a good earth through the body, all good after a cleanup with Emery paper. S
  25. Fortunately wife and I are OK with the rolling about....... Too much Information. S
