  1. Best thing I did with my new brick built garage ,low pitched roof , 6 x 3 metres was to line the walls with 9mm ply . This hid all the electrics and painting the walls with cheap emulsion worked well. I put in a ceiling with ply . This reduces the dust and I can store some items eg spare petrol tank, seats etc . Lining the walls and ceiling took some time but it was worth it Paul
  2. Flat or pitched roof ? Paul
  3. Thought I would share this Ebay Purchase as might suit others - 10 test leads all 50cms long £2.95 delivered - Delivery about a week Paul

  5. Thanks Mark for the explanation and on reflection I'll not complicate matters and leave the system as it is. What colour wire should the Hotpoint switch feed be ? Paul
  6. Hi Mark is "feedback" the same as "sneak current " ? Paul
  7. Thinking about it there would be an issue in adding wiring from the hotpoint switch to the the wipers , so with one push you would have a wash wipe function - As an electrical newbie is this practical , if so would a relay be recommended ? Lastly because my Vitesse has lots of red wires everywhere including the the electric washers what colour wire should I change to - I was thinking purple Paul
  8. Update - the Hotpoint pressure switch arrived and surprised how small it was - approx 50mm diameter - I blew down the inlet pipe and there was an audible click indicating the switch was operating. - I removed the plastic clip with wire cutters so the base plate was flat With the clip removed I added a strip of aluminium held on with JB Weld The switch wires fit on the 2 middle spades This is the original toggle switch for the washers This pic shows the pressure switch attached to inner bulkhead and with tubing added - You need to block off one of the tube outlets on the original switch bellows - simply add a piece of tubing with a screw blocking the hole - Attach the plastic tubing from the pump switch to the second outlet - Thats it you can now use the wipers and electric screen wash at the same time - I need to tidy up the wiring and working on this now Cracking mod for under a tenner Paul

    Car Ramps

Here's a set of ramps I picked up from Ebay for £45.00 - very heavy and the ramps come off to aid accessibility, I plan to have wooden blocks to to "chock" the raising platform, just to be extra safe . There is a giant wingnut which raises the platform Paul

    Car Ramps

The secondhand CJ Autos ramps do appear occasionally on Ebay though they still make good money IIRC last ones were £140 ish Paul
  12. Thanks for the info , another reason for keeping the relay as the audible click confirms the OD is working Regards Paul
  13. Thanks Richard - appreciated and will laminate your PDF for ref purposes The plan is to change as many red wires as possible to the correct colour and route as per wiring diagram - There looks to be a lot of bullet connectors under the dash mainly for the red wire additions which I dont like and was planning to replace with spade connectors - see pic I found this YouTube video helpful Paul
  14. Hi Richard - didnt realise this was the inline fuse I was looking for - thought it was aftermarket fuse because of the additional untidy red wires - It does have a 35amp glass fuse Thanks again Paul
  15. Found this connector behind the Millboard - Is this an aftermarket fitting or the fuse im looking for ?- See pic Paul
  16. Hi Dave - thanks for pic - I have the same setup and confirming the heater control ( 1st Switch) when pulled has a series of notches to control the heater valve. Incidentally my blower switch position is different to yours - Up is off and mine would be on with the horizontal positioning in your pic Paul
  17. Hi Pete , thanks for that. I will try to keep the relay in the engine bay for accessibility . The audible clicking I can hear on flicking the column stick is that from the relay or solenoid or both ? Paul
  18. I will relocate to gain some space. The relay is just 18 months old Paul
  19. There was me thinking it was a type of relay ? Paul
  20. Thanks Richard, especially the thin wall suggestion as had planned classic cable . First job before the big switch is to replace dynamo with an alternator . Paul
  21. Thanks for updates . Steve’s pic confirms the handbook is wrong Paul
  22. Thanks for info, I was looking in the wrong place? I assumed the fuse was behind the dashboard. I will post a pic of the fuse when I find it Thanks for info Paul
  23. The WSM says that apart from the main fuse box there is a line fuse connection behind the dash which protects the front parking circuit , the tail lamp circuit, and the panel lights circuit. I cant find this fuse connection - Any clues as to what im looking for, where its located . Any help appreciated Paul
  24. Still in the planning stage for upgrading the fuse box on my Mk 2 Vitesse to a more modern set up .The overdrive relay - see pic takes up a lot of room - If I need the space can I change the relay to the modern cube style ? Paul
