  1. Is the Vitesse Mk2 Handbook correct ? Page 7 shows the Controls Instruments & Indicators - RHD - My interest is 1 - Air Distribution Control & 2 . Heat Control see pic The Handbook definition for 1 - Air Distribution Control is - See Pic . This suggests the control is for the heatbox ie screen or cabin - My setup has the same instrument knobs but 1 controls the heater valve & 2 controls the interior cabin flow The handook should be correct and pardon the phrase are my knobs on the wrong way - see pic Any input welcomed Paul
  2. Thanks Darren, just purchased a used pressure switch from EBay . £7.99 delivered . Could have purchased new at approx £20. Paul.
  3. My Vitesse currently has a toggle switch to operate to washers. It’s an after market setup with the switch under the dash . It’s a bit awkward to use the wipers and washers so considering going back to the original setup or can I convert the original “pusher” into a switch . Any advice welcome Paul
  4. Joined up with the Brass Monkey Run today . Organised by ICENI car club , American muscle cars , trucks. Good turnout with over 150 cars . Trip was from Brandon to Wells next sea . Good to be on the road Paul

  7. Hi the Club Shop has Hi Torque Starter GT6 / Vitesse on offer this month for £150 and checking around this looks like good deal - Are they worth the upgrade and is it a straight swop . Lastly is the existing starter solenoid made redundant Thanks in advance for input Paul
  8. I will open a new post on Electrical and document my efforts on adding heated seat pads. This is part of a project to add new fuse boxes, alternator , light relays, halogen upgrades, radio, spots and rear fog lights . Because I want to drive my Vitesse the project will be carried out in phases Paul
  9. I should have added my Vitesse seats are now MGF leather seats, not sure how difficult it would be to fit to original seats Paul
  10. Hi Colin - This is the link I purchased from , bit more expensive than last posted link - arrived within 3 days - quality appears good , particularly pleased with switch which wont look too much out of place - the switch need a 24mm hole - good instructions Paul
  11. Pretty sure there are tools designed for tightening bezels for dashboard switches - My ignition switch bezel is always coming undone and by rummaged through some old tools and found an angle grinder pin wrench - its fits a treat . If you grind the pins down a bit you will get an even better grip and less chance of the pins touching the dash Paul
  12. I find the supplied sockets are too large and so far not broken any standard sockets - I use a Lidl wired 300 nm and the handiest one being the Milwaukee impact wrench 110 nm though no good for the bigger jobs like drive shaft nuts Paul
  13. It's been on Facebook today on several pages. Last time I looked the owner had been located . Paul
  14. Hi Richard - Wiring from old fuse box to new fuse box is fine see pic, some cables might even need to be reduced in length. Only relay in place so far is "old style" can be seen in pic and its for the overdrive. I plan to add relays for the headlights ( includes conversion to halogens) + relay for fog/spot lamps which arent fitted yet . The plan was to locate these 3 relays close to the lighting area . Do I need any more relays ? Whilst I havent allocated fuses yet should be ok with 10 fuses Regards Paul
  15. Just located possible location of new Fuse Box - Paper template to the right hand side of the battery - see pic Paul
  16. Whilst this upgrade is in the planning stage I am including changing to an alternator which will remove the need of a regulator - Is this assumption correct ? Paul
  17. One upgrade I'm planning for my Vitesse mk2 is a fuse box upgrade . Is this type suitable https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-24V-10-WAY-BLADE-FUSE-BOX-HOLDER-BUS-BAR-WITH-LED-FAILURE-WARNING-LIGHTS-UK/112457399020?hash=item1a2efbbaec:g:p5IAAOSwOMdZUgp3 Any advice welcomed Paul
  18. Paul. You mentioned extraction equipment . Is this because you plant to use 2k. Paul
  19. The Club sell them , from memory under £40 . eBay had one last week for £25 Paul
  20. I plan the same approach. My Vitesse bodywork has a few rust issues, nothing serious though there are bodywork dings & ripples which need fixing + the door gaps are not good. Just purchased some bare doors from Ebay for very little money - New lower door skins have been purchased so I can repair the doors , spray & fix , same applies to spare boot and new sills . I know it will be a steep learning curve with both welding and spraying . I purchased a 100 litre 14cfm compressor in the summer and currently in good use as spraying new internal doors for the house - for a change im earning some brownie points. Currently using a cheap HLVP spray gun and dont know whether its worthwhile upgrading to a better one for the Vitesse - I dont currently have a welder though looking at 150amp Mig welder - This will mean the Vitesse is off the road for minimum periods until its time to paint the body shell & bonnet which by that time I will be better prepared Any recommendations appreciated
  21. If you fitting a filter after the tank, consider adding a on off tap as this helps with changing / cleaning the filter plus adds a level of security if required Paul
  22. I use the plastic end caps supplied with flexible brake hose Paul
  23. Update - found part of the problem with starting - I thought it could be the non return valve in the petrol pump as the petrol filter wasnt always full . No it was a pesky sliver of R9 tubing which was restricting the petrol flow . The sliver has just found its way into the Fuel Filter situated close to the carbs - Check the pic and its toward the front of the viewing glass - Starting is easier though not as I would like but an improvement Paul
