  3. Lidl have tools on offer this Sunday 15th October I purchased similar earlier in the year. Being compact it fits nicely in the boot Powerfix Profi Socket and Bit Set Price is £17.99 -Although Metric, most of the sockets can be used . I paid £2 less earlier in the year so prices moving up as the weakness in the pound pushes up prices Paul

  16. Hi , I picked up some Vitesse Doors from Clacton yesterday and the seller has a Vitesse 1965 convertible for sale - He is moving so cant complete the project - From what I remember All Chassis work completed & painted white , Mk1 engine, all transmission fitted , ancillaries , bulk head done , suspension refurbed , All wheels fitted so rolling chassis - The rear tub is along side with 90% of the work completed , He was a panel beater so the work completed is first class - The hood isnt on the car though new + seats have been refurbed - The bonnet is a 1360 which needs some wheel arch work - I believe he is looking for £800 If this is interesting to anybody - please pm and ill pass on the sellers details Paul
  17. I have installed a flashing red led in the dash with a hidden push button under the dash - cost £3.00 all in plus base ball bat type steering lock - highly visual - about £8.00 . Also Battery disconnect switch and last but not least a tap by the petrol feed in the boot. Paul
  18. Just an idea my rotoflex Vitesse banged & clattered on minor roads and groaned with people in the back seat when cornering - Turned out the rear outriggers were not bolted to the boot floor . The bolts in my vitesse being at the end of the outrigger by the tail lights . With the bolts in place no issues Worth a look Paul
  19. Hi Richard - Used POR15 de greaser , washed out with hot water 3 times then POR 15 Ruster converter then washed out with hot water - After I removed the plug I completed with POR15 "fibreglass" coating Paul
  20. On another Vitesse tank I managed to remove the drain plug by applying heat from a butane gun - The tank had been cleaned out with no vapour remaining - After applying heat I sprayed on WD40 , then heated again - did this 4 or 5 times and the plug started to move Paul
  21. I couldn't remove the fuel blanking screw. I managed to put the tank back but it was a difficult exercise . Manoeuvre the the spout so it's only just through the body by lifting the base of the tank . Note the rubber grommet for the filling pipe is only fitted when the tank is in place. The tank is then lifted away so the tank fuel drain can start its travel to its location. In my case I did scratch the floor but it wasn't too bad. You will need plenty of wiggling to complete the excercise . At times it seemed impossible but after 30 mins or so the tank suddenly went in. Hope this helps Paul
  22. Thanks Kevin appreciated Paul
  23. Hi Kevin - many thanks . What should I be using - A brand etc will make sure I buy the correct antifreeze instead of relying on the advice of my local Motor Parts shop Is this spec correct Bluecol Paul
