  1. I would tend to favour a BCA site (British Car Auctions), But the Ford Corsair in the bottom of the photo, appears to have what may have been the original Orange Disabled Badge in the window. so I wonder if it is a recovered car compound?. My son`s both did Valeting work weekends in the 80`s,for BCA Camberley as teens, a lot of cars came in with personal stuff still in them. (And more!!) Pete
  2. You don`t hang the coat to the Radio Airel Then?.😁, (i`ll get mine).
  3. There are several Postings about on here from people who have re-veneered them?. Needs some care but can produce excellent results. Pete
  4. Even Sillier question? Why dosent my Convertible have a coat Hook??😂😭 Pete
  5. Canley List them, (ÂŖ125) but out of stock, They are still on Pilkingtons Wesbsite, Several S-H one`s on E-Bay. Pete
  6. That`s likely why I had no problems then?. I changed everything seals, pipe, and all?. Pete
  7. Hmmmm?. Only recent "fail" i`ve had was, Taking the R-V for MOT without removing the "masks" for continental driving, Dohhhhhhhhh!!. ☚ī¸ 15 min later, passed!!. Pete
  8. Sounds like a reaction between the silcon and the DOT 4?. Maybe some traces left behind when the PO changed over. Or pehaps the Seals where not changed?. I changed a Vitesse back in the 80`s, but I did all the seals and new copper pipework too. Pete
  9. I suspect the bottom line so to speak is the volume of Damage repair work out there. Most body shops of any quality are looking at long lead times for anything. Just a small example is my Motorhome booked in for the Starter Motor to be replaced on a 3 week lead in. If it was light enough I would have done it myself but without getting it ramped, the S-M is not that accessible, and my jacks wont cope with a near 2 tonne front end. Pete
  10. Had a look at those, they look the business, biggest drawback is the need to run the fan permanently to keep the shape. With the current cost of electricity that could be expensive?. Hence the search for a possible second hand party tent on a rigid frame. the strength is not critical as it`s going into a Barn anyway. So cheap and dump if neccessary after use?. Now got a line on an Old time, Painter Near Brid; in Yorkshire. He did some work for a friend. Just catching him when he is there as he only seems to work part time now. I have even considered doing the Prime by brush, while I get sorted with how I do the final coat. I spoke to a guy who reckons Acrylic is the way to go? He coach paints for the "steam" fraternity. Pete.
  11. Ouch!!. I feel your pain. I`ve done all the welding and most of the fettleing on My 13/60. But need a sprayshop?. Can I find one? snowballs chance in hell. They appear to all be socked in with Repair work and no one wants to spend time on any "classics". The one shop that did, has a wait list to 2024/5. I`m currently looking to DIY. If I can get a large enough "party tent" to use as a popup spray booth, and in order to keep the pigeon poop off the paint!! with the intention to errect it in a friend`s son`s Barn. Pete
  12. Sandwiches Only, one period, Until the Goanese assitant cook near took his hand off Making them. "Tomato Ketchup" Gentlemen?.🙄 Pete.
  13. Perhaps if there had been significant corrosion to the lower carcass? and a lot of cutting away required to repair. Then it would not be too hard to get the lower edge sufficiently out of alignment to make an issue?. Especially for anyone not versed in body repair. I don`t know, but it (IMV) is a possibility?. I know when I did a lower part re-skin on mine, I cut away and replaced a substantial part of the carcass at the bottom which was badly corroded?. Which just reminded me I did not put any drain holes back!!🙄 Pete
  14. The puzzling thing (to Me) is that the door appears to flush top and bottom?, almost as if the door had been re-skinned, or the lower part anyway?, and not profiled correctly. Unless the rear wing has receved damage at some point. Pete
  15. Still Got the Giha Badge, which fell off my Granada. They where stuck on, but the adhesive pads didn`t take to Steam Cleaners. And a Morris Minor Chrome badge too Pete
  16. From memory I believe the Hood cover has to come off to get at the Webbing?. Pete
  17. Aye, yer `as ter be ded `ard to survive oop `ere. (Cue "capstick comes home". to the "hovis" theme tune).😂 Pete
  18. Don Hood`s, seem to get frequent Thumbs up on this forum, I think they also supply the TSSC shop?. There are several choices of material, the one on mine was a "mohair" one which has seen (much) better days. http://www.donhoods.com/sales/triumph.htm "other supliers are available"😁 Pete
  19. Chances are this has been covered before?, But in my mind the issue of overpressure on the AC type mechanical pumps would be down to the Spring rate?. The induction of fuel is made when the Diaphragm is drawn down, the spring ensures the return. A "weaker" spring would / should lead to less pressure? or am I oversimplifying?. Reducing the stroke would merely reduce the volume of fuel. Pete
  20. I spent quite a bit of time in Haynes Workshops and Printing Line at Sparkford back in the 80`s/90`s. All the Garage, and Some of the printing machinery was subject to H&SE statutory examination. The guys seemed very knowledgeable and it`s true what they said they virtually dissasemble every car they produce a Manual for. Met John Haynes on a couple of ocasions in passing. The Vehcile collection there is (was) very impressive. Pete
  21. Part of my Remit, back when, was to check the quality of weld samples, witness testing, certify results, and issue certification to welders working on Gas and Oil lines for the North Sea Fieids, Shipyards and Boiler Makers and Repairers. I knew all the codes and methods, X-ray`d samples etc; BUT my own welds are still "a lot to be desired". I can lay pidgeon poop with the best. Welding is 20% knowledge and 80% practice, practice...................😁. I had a great deal of respect for those pipe line guys, they performed in conditions many would balk at. They mechanised it in the later stages. I fabricated a new shell for an American R-V silencer, using the old internals. lasted over 5 years. Then I replaced it with a Stainless One custom made by a Company Near Bolton, ÂŖ300 just for the silencer, ÂŖ200 cheaper that getting one from the USA!!.. Pete
  22. 👍 Like wise, many moons ago, just needs some patience. If one is stubborn a fine file is the cure. Pete
  23. Might have been?. I know it was a bitch to get off skin!!. I learned to nick the "goldilocks" out of the kitchen!!.👍 Pete
