  1. Ah!!!!!, From the days when Sports Cars, LOOKED like Sports Cars. Pete
  2. +1 for the Comma Range, use their Oils and various Greases as well as the Anti freeze. On all my "moderns". The exception being the Sprinter, which has to have a specialised Full Synthetic oil, (low ash?). ACEA C2, API SN, ACEA C3. And costs and Arm and Leg. £135 the last time. Pete
  3. One aproach, In my case I would be trying everything I have in the (Huge) "odds and sods" bin aquired over 60 years with additions from Father and Father in Laws Garages. Not that long back I came across a 1" "Acme" threaded bolt of inderterminate age!, from "who" knows where!.😁 And some screws I Know came from my BSA B30 when I replaced them with "Allen" Socket screws, courtesy of my then employer. (Tut- Tut) Pete.
  4. Age of the device, would suggest, not metric?. Which leaves the likes of A-F. U-N. BSW/F. and even, but less likely B-A. Have you tried to size the hole?. The drill size, would give a clue to the thread. Eg; 3.5mm, would suggest a UNF 8-36tpi. Pete
  5. Aldi where Knocking out 15w solar panels a few years ago, I got 2 of them. I`ve had one linked to the Battery that came with the 13/60, it`s just enough to keep the battery up to charge, around 12.7V standing, It boosted the "modern" recently I leave it permanently connected. Another is permanently connected to an old 12V camping lantern, handy when we get "outages". I have both C-Tek and an Aldi Chargers, both do a good job, the Aldi one was 1/4 the price!. Pete
  6. Any one have a Photo, Or drawing?. And of what Material are the made?. Pete
  7. What are the actual thread(s) 5/8AF to 3/4AF. ? Pete
  8. What are you doing to keep getting the dreaded lergy?. Sorry to hears it`s happened again. The worst thing happend to me to-day was a Molar Extraction!. Typing with a numb mouth, still, 3 hours later. SWMBO reckons it`s an improvement!. Petes "Kati" does look the Part though. Pete
  9. She`s Looking very nice, definitely a credit to your efforts.👍 We too got theatened with Thunderstorms, but true to form they passed to the South, So all we got was some light rain. Don`t we Brits love talking about weather?. (and Cars). Pete
  10. That looks a very neat solution, the "girling" offering is quite sruffy by comparison.👍 Pete
  11. In 2006, RAC (Comercial) where prepared to low load my 9t+ R-V from North of Madrid (Burgos) to the UK. No question over it`s value?. In the event we staggered to Bilbao and our ferry on 7 Cylinders, and where recovered from Portsmouth. Pete
  12. That why us old aprentices went to "Night School". (to learn to read in the dark) Yeah, Ok got my coat! Petew
  13. I`ve had Good results, putting the De-Humidifier, in the "moderns" when they feel a bit dampish or the windshield fogs as soon as you start. Overnight you can pull a couple of Litres out of an SUV. Not likely to work too well on an classic convertible though I suspect. Running the A-C with the heater on demists quickly too. But again that won`t apply to to many 1970 Triumphs either!. Curiosity?. Did they ever put A-C in any export cars?. US exports would be favourite if they ever did I suppose?. Pete

    Found in the sump.

Seriously, there is a text that keeps coming, about Test and Trace having logged me as having been in contact Etc,Etc,. I know its a scam, and gets deleted. 1) Test and Trace was scaled back and is no longer running withdrawn back in February. 2) The dates quoted are usually days I have never left the house!!. How many are still getting sucked in by these parasites?. Pete

    Found in the sump.

I have 2 Blue (and white) ones twice a day?, along with................................................... A shed load (well 4) "others". Occasionally the Pharmacy change them to yellow, just for the hell of it I think?. P.S. anyone else keep getting the E-Mails offering performance enhancing medications?. My Spam box seems to be full of it. Pete
  16. Got a few min, Yesterday, so dug these out. Hope they are useful. It`s how the 13/60 was fastened when it came to me. The original brackets where Rusted steel so replaced with alloy. Pete
  17. Another vote for checking the release lever pivot pin, the action would get worse as the pin worked it`s way out. Pete
  18. A lot, not necessarily Triumph cars of this vintage, rattle a bit on startup. especially if left for any period between use`s. I suspect "we" have just got used to more modern vehicles with their closer tolerances. I had a "modern" (well 15+ year old) which had done well over 150K miles and still the Oil light went out after a matter of milliseconds on startup. The engine had never been touched, beyond Oil/filter changes. To properly check Oil Pressure, you really need to fit a Certified Prssure gauge into the Oil system, In car instuments can be notoriously fickle. For those who remember such things, Many old "brit" bikes would drain the contents of the Lub tank to the sump if left to long. Tech; has moved on since then!. Back in the day, we de-coked engines at what are regarded (now) as very low milages, often doing major work on engines with less that 100K. Ford "pinto`s" for example, used to eat valve seals in very short order, you always knew, puff of blue smoke as they left the traffic lights!. in theory that was a head off job, in practice they could be changed in situ. Pete
  19. Finger pointed at the fuel pump. It primes manually, which suggests that there is an issue with the Pump valves?. As the Stroke of the priming lever is greater that that raised by the cam?. See:- https://www.canleyclassics.com/?catalogue=triumph-gt6-mkiii&diagram=triumph-gt6-mkiii-fuel-pump Pete
  20. I could do with some interchangeable parts?. Preferably NOS?.😉 Pete
  21. With the current retail price of a pack of 20 around £10.50. It`s little wonder that the countries Smokers are struggling with heating bills. The price of one pack would cover my bills for 1-1/2 to 2 days, and we have to keep the temp; up with My wife being on Blood thinners (for one). Our Neighbour, 50 years ago, who worked in the NHS, would regularly joke "surgeons bury their mistakes". His anethetist, would allegedly take a glass of gin before surgery to steady his hands. Pete
  22. There was some "discussion" in an earlier post?. Ref; the installation of the Swing Spring. Which if i recall correctly, advised an upgrade to the Front Anti roll bar too. Pete
  23. The "trick" Back when, was to use Molyslip additives. Thinking being the moly gave the bearings some "Lubrication" before the oil got there. Pete
  24. I rebuilt the ones on mine after a good clean, left the existing Buttons there, and coated the leaves liberally in Copperslip. Pete
  25. Plastic Batton Rounds. Serious "crowd control" devices, and subject of much controversy. However less deadly than the alternative. Pete
