I`ve been looking at going to the Newark auto-jumble again, not been for several years, perhaps in the New Year. It will be interesting to see what is there in the "new era" post covid.? It`s a day out for me. sometimes take the Camper rather than the car (Mobile Tea bar). Peter

Sadly. There is a distinct shortage of suppliers when you are several thousand miles from land?. The different variations in sizes and the number of holes etc; anything fro 2" to +36" dia. makes it (virtually) impossible to keep the stock updated, the answer was make `em ourselves!. from sheet material. Which we kept in various thicknesses and grades. Pete

Sounds like you have a basic plan to cope with yours?. The only caution I would make is that, Like when I did the House Build, Have a contingency fund!. WE budgeted 10% for that, it disappeared in one go when they "found" running sand, and we had to pile for foundations!. So far, My costs on the 13/60 have been relatively low, but goodness knows JUST how many hours I have put in. And I have a varied background in examination and trouble shooting, across the whole spectrum of Engineering, and access to workshop machinery, which helps. Be nice to see a successful outcome!.๐. WE need to keep our heritage alive, too much is going in the "bin", in the name of progress and environmental concerns without thought for how we got here. I always say, the "birth to death" Carbon footprint on My 13/60, has to be far lower than any "modern". Pete

"one off" hole punches can be fabricated from short sections of steel tube. They will often cut a couple of gaskets before giving up the ghost. Pete

That`s, been on the cards for many years. Every time it was raised, there was the "usual" objection around the "why should I pay as much for my Little Mini as Lord Muck in his Roller"? It will almost certainly come back to banding In my veiw. Pete It is now, but back in the 80`s there was a differential. Diesel was taxed lower as a "commercial" fuel. Pete

Only good until the Government "bean" counters cotton on the the fact that this is a good new market in personal transportation to TAX. Before the expansion of Diesel Car use, Diesel was 10p/litre below Petrol (Gas), Now it is anything over 10 or more pence a litre higher. Pete

No comments, re "slitty eyes" and the effects of rice in the diet? Pete

Chris, at that price, I`ll suffer the lack of a "designer label" or whatever.๐คฃ The saving will pay for some (more) ๐ท. Pete

Plays havoc with the Wardroom bill?, Sounds about right, Most trawler men where disinclined to discipline, Even during WW2, When mine sweeping, they would put out a Trawl, much to the chagrin of the R-N bodies!. Not the first nor last time they had to cut one with a Mine in it!. Pete

AS, we say in Yorkshire "HOW f****ing much". I can get them freighted in from Texas for (less than) half that!. Pete

The PAS unit fitted to the 13/60, does incorporate a U/J connecting the power unit to the Lower Column. Pete

I have a liking for Jeans as casual wear. I find that the quality of those produced for the UK are vastly inferior to the denim I get from the USA and under the same branding too?. This applies to a lot of "basic" clothing too. Pete

Hereabouts we don't have an "area" the nearest being North Yorks. Well over an hours drive for me. So I guess not a material fact. But having "done time" on Caravan section committees in the past, there seems to be a "Hard Core" with a need for "organisation" those who will, and those who wont, or have to be pressed. I`m very much afraid that in later life I`ve become one of the latter. One has to have appreciation though for those who do take up volunteer posts. Pete

There a good chance that if you look at the label, even from The USofA. it will be labeled "Made in China".๐คฃ. Wonder if they have a US site?. Pete

I understand it happens with those who have what is called Hiatus Hernia.? Brown? Of course?. ๐

Bottle gas is usually Butane/Propane, "Land fill" is (largely) methane. All have different C-V`s, not all are suitable for Propulsive/heating purposes. Back in the 90`s, I put out of service two steam boilers which where less than 2 years old. The heating surfaces where so badly corroded they had become Dangerous. This was the effect of the Acid produced when burning Raw Methane Bio-fuel. The Cheese Makers concerned almost went out of business. In the context of current use most of the gas supplied at the pumps is Propane, and has been treated prior to liquefying. Pete

Garage won`t stay that clean for long!. Welcome back to the Mad world of Triumphing. I sometimes thing it`s a case of "Abandon hope (or Sanity) all ye who enter". ๐คฃ Pete

Best on the old concrete road surfaces. We had huge slabs making up the school "playground" they where brilliant!. Pete

Do you pass the port to the right or left?, never could remember?. Pete

No, the "wheel kickers", where the one`s who pulled you in your ratty old passion wagon, and proceeded to kick tyres and list all the things wrong before issuing a caution about not exceeding the limit? and getting the "noisy" Exhaust fixed. Luckily in the days before breathalyzers where though of๐. Pete

In my case it became clear once I got the 13/60 back in the garage, that the repairs to the chassis where more than first thought. So removal of the Tub`s became inevitable to gain proper access. "How Long" the process takes is dependent upon the amount of time available, if DIY, as in my case, or the depth of pockets, if you hand it to the Trade/Professional. I started in Nov 2015, and it has been a sporadic journey ever since, often not getting any work done for weeks, then periods of intense activity, again 99% DIY based. Mostly around current physical ability and the "caring" duties plus a desire to still travel and use the Camper, which is my wife's "love". It will get finished, when?, I suppose it`s a case of "how long is a piece of string". But as my "old man" would have said, "keeps you out the pubs and off street corners". And I`m not just sat watching the "Magic Lantern" during daylight hours as many of my retired colleagues do/did, beats "waiting for god", that`s for sure. Pete
