  1. Surely, It is rarely "one person". In that case the "Don`t feed the Troll" mantra should work. Being ex M-N. there is a maritime site I go to from time to time. One "person" habitually posts potentially contentious stuff, and It is largely ignored?. Pete
  2. DVLA site:- If you do not know when your vehicle was built, but it was first registered before 8 January 1981, you can still apply to stop paying vehicle tax. Pete
  3. I think it is a requirement in the UK, to indicate it IS on. Either on the switch or on the dash panel somewhere?. Pete
  4. I`l bring beer, and we can all Commiserate together?.😟 Pete
  5. That was the reasoning behind the French Revolution?, which as I recall did`nt go too well.? Making Napoleon a De Facto dictator ultimately. There are many examples of "One party" states in history. Several in the current era. None which particularly benefit the "common man". It was said that Jesus, had communist leanings. The "church" was not exactly a model of moral rectitude either. "Man" is far to competitive (and greedy), and largely too tribal to be persuaded to follow a truly Moral path. As a result, 99% of "US" tend to look after family first and work out from there. Pete
  6. Ah! But, will it come in French Or English?. HMQ allegededly speaks and writes excellent French. Pete
  7. Having watched the mess the Russians made of it?. The state of China?. Hitler couldn't achieve it in the end. I hardly think that will sort anything out. Bottom line, sadly, is you are fighting human nature. Pete
  8. Torque Figures are dependent upon the actual grade of steel used for the Fasteners. Eg; 35T/f/"sq = 14.68Lb/ft. 50T/f"sq = 37.9Lb/ft 55Tf/"sq = 40.9Lb/ft This for 3/8UNF. which assuming a high grade steel for O/E studs would indicate the 42/45Lb/ft in the Manual as Ball park. Anything (Much) higher would risk taking the steel beyond the elastic limit. Pete

Unfortunately, not the case with Mercedes😭. The very first issue I had, the result of needing to remove the driver seat to get to some electrics in the seat base. Left me with a Warning light, and a potential MOT fail. £80+Vat to cancel it. The extra few quid for the more sophisticated instrument capable of so doing, was in that case a no brainer. Since then it has been used for both that and the other car. Pete

Practical Classics Earlier this year (April) ran a feature on some Classics that had been converted and those who carry out the conversions. Might be worth a Look for the cost of a Mag:? from what I saw change out of 20K won`t be much?. My personal opinion is it is something I would be disinclined to do. Not a purist, by any means, but the essence of classics is in my view worth keeping and the I-C engine has a long life yet. Pete

I paid about £125, on a special offer. (i-carsoft V2.0 (1+4) It`s primarily for the Sprinter. But I use it for the Peugeot. And can add up to 10 other vehicles. Can`t find the original advert. But this is the USA Version, specification is the same. https://www.icarsoft.com/Product/s-362-iCarsoft_CR_V2.html Pete

A Constant feature of modern car/vehicle owning life. I did invest in a OBDI reader and diagnostic. As the Sprinter has too many "gizmo`s", which Mercedes want £80+VAT to look at and reset. So far it has paid for itself twice over!. Just resetting the Service Light after an Oil/Filter change, Is chargeable". Pete
  13. On the basis that, if all else fails the Fender can be chromed, Or replaced. I`d be tempted to have a go with Autosol and some very fine wire wool. Pete
  14. Ive got one of those infrared thermometers. It`s a useful tool for such things, you can measure quite specific points as a guide to how the Engine is functioning. Even got used to measure flue temperature on a wood burner!, To see if the upper flue was above dew point. Pete
  15. My Grandson, was the only one in his year in high school, to use a manual!. He practiced on my old car over here, on farm roads, during summer break. Pete
  16. It might be one of those with a spring loaded ball holding the knob on?. A sharp pull often dislodges them?. Pete
  17. Check there is not a small "grub" screw down the bottom of the hole?. Bit of a fish with a small screwdriver and/or Allen key might prove one way or the other?. Pete
  18. Some of the, un-facebook related "Forum" are extremely informative. ie; This one. And the Fiat Forum, are for me the the standouts. The problem with facebook on that score is too many "opinions" rather than proper guidance.? Pete
  19. They fitted that type of load sensing valve to some high spec; Fords in the 70`s. By the time they where a few years old most had seized solid and permanently bent the connections. Half the time they where just disconnected and the mechanical fittings removed. One of those "it seemed like a good idea at the time" jobby`s?. If I am correct My BX with the all singing Hydro-pneumatic suspension also had a similar device fitted in the braking system. Pete
  20. We had 3? I think of them in the engineering workshop at the tech college back in the (Dark ages??). actually not bad lathes. Pete
  21. If you need non return valves, Aquarium air kit suppliers are a cheap source. Bag of 4 for a fiver?, or less. Pete
  22. I am sure you can get adjustable brake bias valves?. Demon Tweeks?. Pete

Couple of "goldilocks" pan scrubbers?. Pack of 4 Local Pound shop.👍 Pete
  24. The thermostat, shouldn't open below 78degC anyway So IMV setting the fan cut in should surely be above that?. With a 4psi Rad Cap it won`t boil below about 107degC. Pete
  25. If this is what you are describing?.
