  1. On a lighter note. I assume all are aware of the "origin" of the "bug"? Allegedly to do with a Failure on "Collosus"?. The huge machine built at Bletchly to crunch numbers. It fused and the cause was traced to a large MOTH or similar on an electrical circuit, Ergo? "BUG". Queue, Michael Cain "not a lot etc;".🤣 Pete
  2. Hi Found it. https://forum.tssc.org.uk/topic/7037-vitesse-16006-convertable-seat-belts/page/3/ Towards the end of Page 3 . Pete The above shows how far I moved it back to clear the Hood Frames. The original hole shown below it will be blanked off. How they finished. Donor seats from a "serial" MX owners Stockpile. Extra (precautionary)bracing in behind the frame for the upper mounting.
  3. I sailed with Young Paul. But he did`nt sing? Good Dart Player though?. (not easy to throw darts when the ships` rolling.👍) Pete
  4. And the toast Gentlemen, "Wives and Sweethearts"! (may they never meet🤣). All without rising from your seat. Pete.
  5. Bloody makes me feel old. Our first was 30, last year! and has a boy and girl of his own!. Congrats, all round. Everyone I speak to says the same, there all great, but there is something particularly special about the first. The device, was probably used to test paint samples after painting?. Pete
  6. Hi I fitted Some back Last year during the ongoing refurb;. There are a series of photo`s on one of the Threads. If I find the link I will post?. I moved the Anchorage back to clear the Folded hood frame and added stiffening in the wheelarch to compensate. Pete
  7. Bear in mind that on Alternators the Regulator is most often built into the back of the device. They can fail, I am not 100% sure but part of the circuitry I think incorporates a series of Diodes?. Failure of any one of which could affect output?. (Correct me if I am wrong it is the best part of 50? year since I did Electronics theory) Pete
  8. I would be more concerned that the Alighment of the forward edge of the glass at the top, Appears to be Closer to the Screen than at the bottom? suggesting the possiblity that the frame is distorted towards the rear? What does the rear screen alignment look like? Pete
  9. IF you are seeing less than about 13+Volts at the Alternator output. There is a possibilty that the alternator is part of the issue, A Battery will "normally" need to be 12.5volt`s or above in decent condition, Alternator output will be in excess of this, I See 14V regularly on my "modern", usually just after starting. Maybe what you are measuring with a running engine is the putput of a failing alternator?. As I said, I could be wrong, but there would IMV certainly be a case to check the condition of the Alternator?. Pete
  10. By all means pick holes in this. (I`m at the rag end of a bottle of Red). However. IF you are seeing 12V, other than with the start key in the cranking position. You must be feeding the coil 12volts under running conditions?. My take is that you feed the Input side of the Ballast Resister 12V, (or alternator output, which could be 13+V) and the output side should be (nominally)6V?. Pete
  11. I know there are many "formula`s" for the "ideal penetrant" (K-Y. not withstanding) But A mix of Diesel and light lubricant was a "staple" when corrosion due to sea water was an issue?. Pete
  12. Totaly Agree with Pete. Mine (13/60 C-V) was at least 18 to 20+mm too far back no doubt not assisted by the bottom of the "A" post being virtually non existant!, as where both floors, I still will not know for certain if it`s "cured" until I rebuild the door/window combination, I was (lucky?) in that I went the the Bridlington Road run/Car show 2019?, and a Guy turned up with one and allowed/helped me to measure from the base of the B Post to top of the frame as a Guide. Maybe some kind "Spit" owner with a "good" one can do likewise?. Pete.
  13. Curiosity?. Looking at the Haynes (1982 print run) Vittesse/GT6 Manual. The Mk3 GT6 wiring diagramme shows item 7 as a Ballast Resister Wire With a colour code KW, no indication for "K" but W is white?. Is it possible, that you are feeding the ballast via a wire that already has "resistance" built in. The "full fat" 12V feed is from the solenoid, not the switch, using a W/Y feed for starting?. Back when, Ford, with which I am more familiar, Used to incorprate the ballast wire into the actual loom, under the wrapping.
  14. Trying hard to think of which car it was?. But one vehicle some years back had a similar issue. In the end I used a cut down tubular spanner with a (big) nut welded to the top, and used a ring spanner to get it started, once started it would come out just using the fingers?. "Thing about some cars, you have to think laterally. Pete
  15. Ha. Roundabout city!. You can get dizzy driving round/through it. As for the Rugby. There`s always next year!. IMV. the scoreline wasn`t representative of the game but good luck to Saint`s. They have to Beat Castleford, so we still have a Yorkshire Team in play. Pete
  16. Ever see the Jasper Carrot Clip, about the moles?.
  17. Back then, It was all Legue Rugby Here. Hull, still supports (just about) 2 Teams. If all goes well, we might just get to this years final, Find out later to-day. When I lived in the West Country I got to Bath several times. When Guscott was still playing. Nearest I got to "H-Q". Was when we Examined the heating system before it was all rebuilt. Pete
  18. Wouldn`t be the first time I used the Kitchen Oven to introduce heat, and then dropped the offending item into iced water.? Got to be careful though of induced cracking, but with diferential materials it can work. Jeff had "some difficulty" with a Rear drive shaft in a recent post. I near destroyed one with a 20tonne press lucky to get away with just a light skim of the driving face. Pete
  19. Doug, "When I was a lad". All us Rugby fan`s from "oop norf", down for the Wembly Finals. Used to say the Courage was well named. You needed Courage to actually drink it!. I guess it`s all about what you where actually "weaned" on.? But the Red Barrel. Was Dire. TBF. So was the "Brew X" and that was brewed (alegedly) at Burton.! Even worse, On Ship`s on longer voyages, we had to "suffer" Tennants Lager in can`s.😪 Pete
  20. I think Doug is currently being sick?. (over a comment on another thread) Pete
  21. It`s now a couple of years since I put mine back. But if I remember correctly I drifted the Trunion block back on using a short length of tube?, fitted the back plate, then pulled the hub on?. Pete
  22. I dont know?. Southern softies can`t hack it?. Still what do you expect from where they "invented" Watneys Red Barrel?🤣 Pete
  23. "Goldilocks" pan scrubbers, make good Filters, You just need a suitable container. Take it out at Oil change time and wash in degreaser or petrol. (just dont re-fit until it has evaporated, or you get some "interesting" results). Pete
  24. You may wish to consider "Shouldered Studs"?. IF you know someone with a lathe, they will knock you 3 up. Mates usually only want the odd pint in payment?. Pete
