  1. First time driving my Midge after rebuild was, "Have I forgotten anything? Are there any strange noises? No?" Then relax and smile!
  2. The little oval contained the number of years experience. Now called the Guild of Experienced Motorists. (GEM). https://www.motoringassist.com/
  3. Veteran Motorists Association.
  4. Yes, I thought adjuster hole. Trailer wheel maybe?
  5. Someone on the TSSC facebook page has a mix of wheels on his car (Herald or Vitesse). All his wheels are 'large slot' Does anyone recognise this style? They are 13" and apparently the correct PCD.
  6. My kindly MOT man carefully removed the build up of green moss type substance from the Pick-up wiper blades before passing it..... It didn't get used much last year and lives under a Fatsia Japonica bush.
  7. Ah, just noted the higher M numbers, so 70 would be good for 1144's
  8. What is this 90 mph, to which they refer? Lucky to venture over 70 in both my cars! Obviously don't need Mintex pads!
  9. Where did you drive to in your Triumph today ? To the shop down the road to get a paper and some bacon for lunch.... Purely to move it on the drive so that I could fit a replacement starter solenoid.
  10. 1/6d for the half gallon to fill up my old Honda 50 back in 1967.
  11. Here's another one from him. Scammel cab design.
  12. Would it be possible to get chrome wheel nut covers?
  13. Unfortunately, no Triumphs in this Castrol Book of Achievements, but a recognisable shape on the opening page.
  14. I saw this coming when I built my pick-up. Bought a nice 948 bulkhead to replace the old 13/60 one. Salvaged the part needed and stitched onto the 948 item. Both floor panels were replaced, so no mis-match there. Also swapped over the bonnet cone mounts.
  15. Yep, put the body in the vice and span it up with a stripping wheel in the electric drill... SKREEE.
  16. Note to self, Must up my door repair prices.. £147 to fill my work van. £1.799 litre, diesel.
  17. I've got some. Could pop one in the post for you.
  18. Did all the above, no difference. Ran for a mo' with belt removed, all quiet. New pump, all good.
  19. This is not a question, but a solution. I've been putting up with a shriek from the water pump on my Herald pick up (and in it's previous life as an estate) for some time. Always on application of a fairly heavy right foot. Enough was enough, ordered the correct 1500 Spit pump from Paddocks and fitted yesterday. Bliss! no more shriek. Apologies for an innocuous post.
