I've found a very good original Girling adjuster, all parts free and ready to fit. PM me if wanted.

I've got a spare closer to home, I think complete. Just need to locate in the depths of the garage. If I find one today, I could send it tomorrow...

It never ceases to amaze me watching the Outback Truckers with all their cab controls and gauges... Quite happy with my few.

A new starter motor cured the same problem on my Herald pick-up, aka The Heep.

I will have to dismantle and check!

Took the Heep to get four new tyres and then on to a hood fitting co. to ask if they could make up a fold up screen for the large opening behind my head..... Sorry, no trimmers...Covid. I shall search elsewhere. The Heep has a starting issue, fires straight up on full choke, but before it's fully warmed up, it only wants to fire on 2 or 3 cylinders. Give it a bit of welly and it eventually kicks in all 4. It's 1500 with twin 150 Strombergs on an SAH manifold. The tyre fitter was quite put out by the behaviour of the rear wheels when he jacked it up, after I told him to jack under the diff....

Amazing man, not afraid to speak his mind. He will be missed.

Just the 'standard' Herald underpinnings.. with a bit of artistic licence...

The epoxy paint is not UV resistant, I will lacquer it in the summer. It looks totally different when wet...

I covered the build of my shorty Herald Pick-up on the C**b T*****h forum back in 2018 and it saw a reasonable amount of use until the end of 2019. 2020, however, like everything else, put the brakes on and has seen The Heep parked on the drive awaiting better times. A week off from work gave me the incentive to wake it up and get it in for MOT. So, fluid levels checked, trunnions oiled, tyre pressures checked, lights, horn, wipers etc checked... contact, ignition! A leisurely drive to my usual MOT man has seen a new MOT with an advisory to replace the 18 year old tyres.... Otherwise a clean bill of health.

Front bumper on my Midge was rescued from a semi submerged Austin 7 in a stream at Adversane Breakers near Billingshurst. The car must have been in there for at least 40 years, but the nuts and bolts undid without a struggle. That'll be £3 mate. I miss the old scrap yards... balancing precariously 3 or 4 cars up trying to get the part you need, or crawling around under said pile..... The donor Herald for my Midge came out of a scrappie, £50. Good body but chassis was MOT fail.

Nearly 4 years ago we adopted our first Lurcher.... Irish Wolfhound x Border Collie. Rescue from Ireland with no history at all. He joined our Black Lab. they've been joined by two black cats, kittens, just before lockdown last year. All good friends.

Check the number of linkages between the steering wheel on a Series Landy and the wheels.... No wonder it was like steering a wayward barge if there was any play or stiffness anywhere!

Those flanges look bent...

Hi Pete The roll over bars in the Herald pick up serve a few purposes. A degree of safety, a mount for the targa top (cut down saloon roof), A rigid anchor to tie the sides of the tub together (no more tub spread). I've also fitted the saloon 'B' post uprights to the vertical bar to allow fitment of the side window / door seal . I haven't successfully come up with a rear window design yet. There's a sheet of clear acrylic keeping the weather out at the moment.

I have been watching a re-run of Fred Dibnahs jaunt around Yorkshire with his traction engine. He visited another owner where they had suffered a devastating workshop fire. The showmans engine that had been inside was reduced to it's steel components, all the brass had melted. They were a few years into a rebuild.

I have a similar problem, my doors line up perfectly and the gaps are good. However the tops of my quarterlights are way below the top of the A post. In my case, I am putting it down to a total mix and match of panels... 948 bulkhead and Vitesse doors. The car is a special, so I can live with it. Strange, none the less.

It's Triumph based and a restoration...

The fun to be had with crow scarers.... Hours of fun. I never bought any shop firework bangers after being introduced to these.
