  1. Yes there are, but I notice some privileged contributors are better treated, no names mentioned of course . . .
  2. I was surprised when they said to petrol, not to stop it thickening as with diesel obviously, but I assume to make it more volatile.
  3. I'm safe then, I don't have a best shirt
  4. Sort of related to this thread. Last night on my local news there was a report from a petrol refinery at Donges ( Loire estuary near St Nazaire). during the report they mentioned that the additives were changed according to the time of year, more (forgot what) in winter to help cold starting for instance.
  5. You might say that but I couldn't possibly comment 😏
  6. I tend towards the theory of the float blocking somehow and not rising to maximum. I have fished about a bit but without any effect so will live with it unless I run out other bits to fiddle withπŸ€”
  7. Derek, do you realise how many of us are old and frail and the stress could make us all reach for the bottle - pills or booze.
  8. Hey I'm making progress, Pete. I can follow your description of the page layout and screen shot. I have found the 'Start ne topic' box BUT there is nothing to the left of it, all I have is 'Reply to this topic' to the right. Back to fluids, my tea is getting cold - told you my next one was at 4pm!
  9. Mine does the same, and stays there for what seems like a lot of distance, by the time the tank is getting to the low mark it is more or less correct. I do keep saying I must check it out but never do because it does warn me in time that I need petrol.
  10. Same here. Except I've finished my post lunch fluid and my next one is at 4pm β˜•
  11. Well, I understood 'fluid' πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“ as for the rest . .
  12. Yes I agree. With a known car and a known position for the temperature needle it doesn't matter where it sits the important bit is when it does something different.
  13. The 106 does exist but I don't know the difference between the two, sorry
  14. Yes I think it is a replacement also because the trim is 'beige' rather than a code as in your's.
  15. 5 characters, cheaper with a 1 or 2 digit code
  16. The way I've seen people test the viscosity of paint is where a predetermined volume of paint is put into a funnel and the time taken for it to run out determines the viscosity
  17. That's the sort of thing, serious kit!
  18. I don't want to high jack the thread just a slight detour. The commission plate on my 13/60 shows the colour as DB 572. I've always had my doubts about the plate being original although the original colour of the car was red. The plate and rivets look to clean.
  19. I've seen them on the telly being used, usually massive jobs with heavy weights, this would be for testing something much smaller and more delicate
  20. I'm not and THAT is the problem. Not had a cigar for weeks . . Mind you there is plenty of "herbe" and weeds in the field next to my garden.
  21. It's a twowit. They come in various sizes and shapes. This on is a round twowit . . .
  22. Exactly the same here. How come Pete has his shooting star and we've all been relegated to blue rockets? Is he paying a bigger 'commission'? I've got it - the forum is going to mutate into a game site and we have to fly our rockets to intercept Pete's shooting star! 'Game on'
  23. Yea, I've got a rocket too. (My missus has been known to say I could do with one under me . .) Bet it's a cyber attack from them Ruskies!
  24. What is it with yellow cars today? First the vitesse now this . .
