    Hey I'm making progress, Pete. I can follow your description of the page layout and screen shot. I have found the 'Start ne topic' box BUT there is nothing to the left of it, all I have is 'Reply to this topic' to the right. Back to fluids, my tea is getting cold - told you my next one was at 4pm!

    Mine does the same, and stays there for what seems like a lot of distance, by the time the tank is getting to the low mark it is more or less correct. I do keep saying I must check it out but never do because it does warn me in time that I need petrol.

    Yes I agree. With a known car and a known position for the temperature needle it doesn't matter where it sits the important bit is when it does something different.

    Yes I think it is a replacement also because the trim is 'beige' rather than a code as in your's.

    The way I've seen people test the viscosity of paint is where a predetermined volume of paint is put into a funnel and the time taken for it to run out determines the viscosity

    I don't want to high jack the thread just a slight detour. The commission plate on my 13/60 shows the colour as DB 572. I've always had my doubts about the plate being original although the original colour of the car was red. The plate and rivets look to clean.

    I've seen them on the telly being used, usually massive jobs with heavy weights, this would be for testing something much smaller and more delicate

    Exactly the same here. How come Pete has his shooting star and we've all been relegated to blue rockets? Is he paying a bigger 'commission'? I've got it - the forum is going to mutate into a game site and we have to fly our rockets to intercept Pete's shooting star! 'Game on'

    Yes, switched my computer on this afternoon to find that nice Mr Micros**t decided I needed the told about the weather by having it on the tool bar at the base of the screen, plus they wanted me to use their browser instead of my usual one. now I'll probably spend hours trying to persuade them i want neither of them . . . Progress!

    All I can say is that it looks to have been the original fixing point and it is where the static belt was fitted when I got the car.

    Just popped out for minute to take these photos. The reel is mounted on the original points and don't get blocked by the hood when down. No signs of wear on the belts or trim, but then only been fitted for 6 years. Hope this helps.
