  1. Hummm... I think I'll put the idea on the back burner for the moment. i don't need to change the switch, just filling in time as the weather is 'merde'
  2. Ok, so I've been looking at what is available her in France. Still reluctant to order from UK due to unclear position with courriers charging the earth for 'customs clearance'. I've got a lead on a possible one the thread is NPTF rather than NPT, looking them up I think it would be ok can anyone confirm this thanks.
  3. It matches the paintwork well, or at least some of it . . 😜
  4. Sounds like an interesting alternative to a worry dial. do you have any details of a supplier - car is a 13/60. Thanks
  5. Yes cats bringing in birds is the worse! Feathers everywhere, mice and the like are fine as long as they are dead on arrival or soon after 😖 It's when they put them down and go and have a snack then when they come back look surprised the mouse isn't there any more. While on the cat theme, we passed our interview and inspection last Saturday by a lost/abandoned cat and we are up to 4 now.

    Shakedown run

How old is the fuel? A few months shouldn't matter but a few years . . . I don't use my 13/60 over winter so it sits with whatever petrol is there at the end of the season and never had a problem.
  7. A trying day without a completely positive result. Treat yourself to a glass or two of your favourite tipple, you deserve it.
  8. For Heralds my book confirms 7 lb for 948, 1200 & 1250s from engine N° GA.240782.E 13 lb. 13/60 7 lb and from engine N° GE.22521.E 13 lb. My 13/60 from 1968 has the 13 lb, engine N° is after the cutoff I believe it to be the original. As for water level it says to fill to 1" below the filler neck to allow for expansion. Of course the 13/60 doesn't have the overflow bottle.
  9. Maybe I'm being a bit obvious but have you used an infa red thermometer to confirm if it is actually too hot and where.
  10. Better than that the Alpine is Normande!
  11. Keep an eye on eBay, they turn up from time to time, that's where I got one from. Good luck
  12. Heck! Now you've done it - the challenge is launched
  13. Or just ask the shopkeeper . . .
  14. I would agree with you, most modern fuel pipe would be superior to our needs ( low pressure). From the numerous problems people have reported having I guess the pipe they have been sold isn't ethanol proof despite the sellers claims.
  15. When it first started being shown here we watched the first couple of episodes and decided "naw seen it all before, it'll just drag on and on and on and on and . . ." Did they ever do a second series?* *Kidding I know they did
  16. All looks fine on my "ordinateur" maybe it appreciates the trip across the water
  17. Clever bloke that Colin, an answer for everything, even before you pose the question 👨‍🎓
  18. Problem now is being supple enough in the mornings to put them on 👴
  19. I really don't understand why so many people seem to buy the stuff from the bay, I just popped into my local car spares place, a proper one, with a piece of my old one the checked the diameter and cut the length off a roll. Ok, so buying certain that can be difficult to find of very expensive on the bay is fine but with the poor reputation for lots of stuff I try to use it as little as possible. I know some items from the big suppliers may not be any better either . .
  20. I would have thought that an estate version could have been a good seller, Triumph had all the bits so the productions costs wouldn't have been prohibitive. The extra power being useful for a full load, maybe back then estates didn't have any appeal to the better off?
  21. I saw the magazine cover on the FB page, not got my copy yet. Yes LHD and old French vignettes (road tax) in the windscreen
