  1. Thanx for replies , I’ll stick with the faithful dynamo for the time being as most of my driving is daytime . Theoretically what happens to the dynamo when overloaded for a period of time with lights , wipers , heater blower etc Paul
  2. I’ve been down the alternator route for my Vitesse using the Dynamator instead of a conventional alternator . 2 weeks and 1600 mile trip it packed up . Despite being out of warranty Accuspark replaced it and it’s still on the box and looking to be sold . My question is do I really need to change to an alternator ? What level of activity is required that I need the extra amps Thanks in advance Paul
  3. Grinder disk removal tool . This will fit the ignition bezel in my Vitesse. Paul
  4. Modified spanner for easier removal of Stromberg carbs . Shortened with top and bottom edges ground for easier access . Colour coded for tools I carry in my Vitesse
  5. I modified an old 1/2 ins spanner , shortened and ground the top and bottom edges to remove the 4 nuts easily . Makes removal and refitting much easier . I’ve got the T shirt for rubber slivers due to fake R9 tubing . The coloured tape is to make sure the spanner goes back in the tool box which I carry in my Vitesse Paul
  6. Silentcoat , excellent product , easy to apply , cheaper than Dynamat , bought mine from Amazon Paul

  11. Horizontal for Huco adjacent to battery inertia switch up 10 amp approx draw , I fitted a relay with switch in power circuit . I have a blade fuse box with 15 amp fuse if you need photos please advise Nb I’m no expert though fitted mine about 2 years ago and like the comforting tick tick when the ignition is switched on Paul
  12. Does it need the vinyl replaced or the headlining as well . If it’s just the vinyl it’s a possible DIY at less than £150 Paul

  15. No ,the Nissan Micra 1995 approx is a single speed Paul
  16. If you decide to go the electric pump route suggest the Huco 3010 pull pump , I’ve fitted one on my vitesse and fitted alongside the battery. I blanked off the fuel pump with a plate made from an old aluminium saucepan . The blanking plate is available on Ebay for about £17. I added a filter before the pump and before the carbs . The latter is the glass type so visual . I like the reassuring click click when the ignition is turned on . Paul
  17. Found a post re Nissan Micra Blower http://triumphherald1360.blogspot.com/2016/01/heater-fanblower.html?m=1 Paul just found the forum thread , follow the posts
  18. I’ve fitted the Micra heater blower to my Vitesse . The box needs a bit of fettling and my best guesstimate is that the Micra blower is at least 50% more powerful than the Original , I’ll dig out the post I did on the subject Paul nb the Micra Blower cost about £10 from EBay
  19. Is it the motor or the dashboard switch ? Paul
