  1. What about wearing those furry pink bits and pieces Colin posted about a few weeks ago.
  2. This yank company has a lot of basic videos on their yootoob channel. It should be simple for the club to emulate with various items and add or update/upgrade as time goes on. It would be a really valuable resource. Head office could have a special section on....the web-site. These are a couple of examples. Yes they are America and some are a little lacking in the health and safety areas, but I have found some of them to be very useful. I must stress that I have no connection with this company in any way. I don't think that there is anything in them that can't be done at HQ... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2kizc557mc8 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4LN0cIRDG68 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B7daO787j2E https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hWLKNPQ4ROM https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vOGx_8DalCc
  3. Make sure it's covered on your insurance and don't leave the sun roof open!! It may record the tea leaves but no point if they take it with them!
  4. Maybe throw in the flying helmet and the wet celery (with apologies to 'Allo, Allo')
  5. Gentlemen, this is not what we expect on this forum Edit - This comment was posted in respect to other posts which have subsequently been deleted.
  6. What was it that was posted here some weeks ago...'hard in slow out'..well I think that it was this forum!!
  7. +1 for Dinitrol products although I also use Bilthamber stuff for other needs.
  8. Is that boot lid fitting correctly. It looks too short in the length on also have a belly in the middle? Or is it supposed to look like that?
  9. Clock has arrived. Taken a full week to get to me bl**dy Evr! (Ex Herpes!!). Just about to lodge a fleabay complaint as showing 'entered the system' for 4 days (yes I know about the rail stikes), when it turned up. Anyway. Lovely little thing looks the same as the one in the club shop at £108.00 (why so expensive, others are flogging them for £69) but only cost £20 plus carriage. Only thing with mine is that the flat button thingie is missing. Suits me as the stalk is still there to set the time, and now doesn't detract from the face. Just the job. Found a cutter in the garage and cut a slightly larger hole, 3mm deep and then cut the main hole through 52 mm dia. There was enough waggle in the drills so that it formed a very nice rebate and the clock fits nicely. More to follow.
  10. Sid - Welcome to the forum. I got loose lay carpets back in the 1980s. No money, no experience. Got the cheapest going. They are just starting to need replacement. I will probably get loose lay again, being a cheapskate, but mine are boring black. Try using the search function. 'Carpet' will give you loads of hits. You can sort them by date. Happy reading...you have come to the right place... don't be afraid to ask!!!
  11. Alex - Stupid idea time. Just wondered it any pivot points have been powder coated causing the frame to bind when trying to open. Obvious point, make sure that the frame opens a closes smoothly before fitting the hood. Just some obvious thoughts over breakfast.
  12. Take your time, assume nothing, masking tape where you are going to measure (so you don't mark the hood/paintwork) and measure three times before you..punch, drill, rivet etc. Fit outside, hopefully in the sun as this softens/stretches the hood and aids everything. Tape around areas where you don't want glue in case it spreads too far or you spill some and cover everything inside..you will drop that tool, and that rivet will go down into the most inaccessible place...it is the law. Oh...and....good luck. Time and patience are your friends, along with whoever is within earshot when you need help quickly!!!
  13. Colin - You'll have to excuse Chris, all this living in foreign places, not good for him.
  14. I have been using these sealed rivets for some time. I was advised that there was less chance of the ball thingie coming loose after compressing the rivet, falling out and rattling around in an enclosed space.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182572540814
  15. I used a small nut ( or two) over the stem of the rivet. Useful in that if it did get stuck in the popper, I could pull it out with pointed pliers.
  16. ...and, any damage to any other components, paintwork etc needs consideration. This could end up to be very expensive. I am not even sure if you shouldn't notify your own insurance company as a safeguard. Somewhere in my memory I remember that I was once told to tell them of any problems just in case it went pear sharped and you had to get legal involvement from them. Probably overkill but just a thought.
  17. Yes, I should have realised after I had been out the measure them on mine.
  18. ...and this is a full, decent repair of their damage, not just cutting out the burnt bits and scotch-lok new bits in. I think that £450 will turn out to be very much on the low side all things considered.
  19. Depending on exactly what you told them to do, I would tell them to claim on their liability insurance and sting them for the full cost of rectifying the damage. If you put a car in with an electrical fault and they burn out the loom that is their fault not yours and they are liable for the damage.
  20. Can't tell from the photo. Measure the external diameter of both. One should be smaller than the other. (Sorry to state the obvious). UPDATE The male in both plastic and metal is 10mm. The female metal (no plastic) 14mm. These are the external diameters measured with my digital gauge. Hope that this helps a little
  21. I think that the screw heads might be fouling the fitting (just a guess). All of mine are flat rivetted. The 'male poppers are on the body, the 'female' on the hood.
  22. Of course it's a vent not a dial. Just difficult to make out if you don't know what it is. I should have realised having referenced the vents earlier in the thread. Thanks.
  23. Just flicking through my Courier 506, over coffee this afternoon and what to I spy on page 60, the side by side layout of dial and lighter. Admittedly a GT6 but interesting.
