Sue Franklin
We had our first Devon Club meeting back at the Star Inn, Liverton just off the Drumbridges (Newton Abbot) roundabout on the A38 in July. Rewarded for our change of venue, we had a brilliant turnout of Triumphs, good food served promptly and a great welcome from the landlords, James & Heidi. We will be back there for our August meeting on Wednesday 17 August from around 6.30 pm. Great level car park too and we love to see Triumph owning visitors to Devon too. Just remember which way we have our scones - and you should not have to ask unless you are Cornish!

Waiter:" You're in Dorset."
steveo
Went to our local meet in Cornwall a few weeks back, we were the only Triumph ! only one couple in the bar from the club ( driving a MX5 as the TR8 wouldn't start ) Very nice people but we were disappointed with the turn out, apparently we went on a quite day, looking at this it maybe worth a trip to Devon once a month, have to find my passport & put up with cream first ! Sue Franklin
Never never BUTTER. In Devon we do it reet - Cream always first - replaces the need for butter - and plenty of jam of whatever you fancy on top. People have even been known to put honey on top. I could not possibly comment. Any refugees from other counties are always welcome in Devon though Steveo may need to bring his passport - our natives are reasonably accepting though.
Colin Lindsay
Here in Northern Ireland where the usual breakfast is a fry called a 'belly buster' we go the whole hog, so it's: plain scone, butter, jam, then cream. I do understand how the butter could be replaced with cream but then you're losing out.
