Treadplate fixing screws Herald / Vitesse

Anyone have a source of the little chromed self-tappers, almost flat with a decorative rim, that are used to fix treadplate cover trims on Heralds and Vitesse? Can't seem to find any anywhere but if I know the part number it'll help widen the search. I think they're called flanged self-tappers; need the size.

Mine are riveted on and I was about to remove them… I didn’t know that wasn’t standard. So looks like I’ll be cribbing the supplier info off you Colin if you’re successful!

I have seen both rivets and the short Chromed self tappers shown by Colin used to secure the Treadplates (No.6 size I think).

I think I picked up some suitable short Chrome self tappers as shown from an Autojumble off one of the Suppliers that specialises in fixings, I've no idea if any of the usual suspects supply them.

A phone call or e-mail to TD Fitchets or Canley Classics and you may get lucky Colin

I've found these Stainless steel ones on the net which will do the job I reckon

I think the head of the screws Colin has shown in his photo’s on his tread plates are Pozidrive they have those little line marking between the star drive.

There is another star drive besides the Phillips and Pozidrive, the JIS think it stands for Japanese Industrial Standard as used on Japanese cars.

Colin,

Pack of 10, £2.50.  Buy one of each, then you'll be our expert.

Free postage, although it doesn't mention NI.

Doug

Have you seen my 'expertise? You should know it by now.

"What size bolt did you use?" " No idea, it fitted the same hole as the old one and looked about the same length..."
