dave.vitesse
Both types were available as a factory fitment. However, apart from the Herald Estate and the Van the majority of Herald and Vitesse wing mirrors were fitted by the dealer. It you are looking for originality either will be right. 68vitesse
Or fit one of the mirrors which clamp to the quarter light frame, been using one for years and find it extremely useful. Regards Paul

Just fitted the squarish type to my MkIV Spitfire doors. Very useful except that I keep walking into one of them in the garage. 30 years without takes some getting used to. dougbgt6
I had round bullet wing mirrors, looked very pretty but completely useless vision wise. However I've replaced the mirrors with convex, a great improvement, but not as good as door mirrors I think. Ha! A sensible answer from me for once! Badwolf
Yes, it was due to Doug that I made sure that I got convex glass on mine when everyone was trying to sell me flat. Ended up with a great deal off a fleabay trader, convex at no extra charge plus it was a fleabay 10% discount day. Well pleased. Tex aftermarket too. Colin Lindsay
Door mirrors are a lot better - you can actually see what's behind you. I use the clip-on quarterlight mirrors so that they're right by my head. Wing mirrors are so far away you need a telescope!
dougbgt6
Not if you have convex Colin, everything behind looks like bulldozers and Sherman tanks! db

Badwolf
It may get worse than this, just wait and see. This could be a further indication of the general age of contributors here. My comment about the records last week was due to a careless comment about 'Right Said Fred' by Bernard Cribbins.
