PeteH
Out of curiosity, When did washers become part of the MOT regiem?. Any one know?. I guess I could re-cycle the Tank/pump from the one I removed from a scrapped MK1 Escourt many years ago?. I saw it recently when searching for something else. poppyman
I think in the early 80's Pete. I think its one of those things that if they are fitted they must work. If the windscreen will open it doesn't matter either way. Tony.

My level is with them covered by about a couple of centimetres I ain't got a couple of centimetres, maybe one at most when the level has settled after a drive, and the expansion has pushed the excess out. When it looks like this it's due a topup... (that one's due a rebuild but you know what I mean)
Chris A
If I saw mine that low I'd be looking for where the leak was or trying to weigh up the impact of hot weather and fast long run had.
Nick Jones
Point about the Vitesse (and GT6) is that the extra length of the engine makes things a bit tight up front making radiator height and volume a bit marginal. Hence the use of the “header tank extension”. Herald and Spitfire have more room meaning the rad can have a decent sized header tank to begin with, so don’t need the extension. PeteH
Granted it was a long time ago (198?). But I think the Vittese (2L) had a Larger (higher/taller) Radiator?, than the one currently waiting to be replaced in the 13/60. Pete
NonMember
The Vitesse radiator is narrower than the Herald one, but thicker and deeper. It's situated between the chassis rails rather than above them.
johny
I suspect the wide Spitfire/Herald rad might even be better than the Vit one on the basis that area is more effective than thickness but of course it wont fit☹️
