AlanT
Hi All, I've acquired these funky Cobra Super slots for my 1980 Spit resto. A bit 'boy racer' but I like them! Does anyone know who sell centres (60mm approx) and nuts to fit Spit studs? Thanks Alan
Johno
Alan hi, I don't but I'll keep an eye on the post as I'm in exactly the same position. I think they're a cracking upgrade. Boy racer image be damned. Johno
poppyman
Back in 70's we used yoghurt or ice cream pots for the centres, pushed in from the back. usually painted the same colour as the car Tony.

Colin Lindsay
Buy four aerosols of silver-reflective paint and use the caps....
Badwolf
Colin - Slight diversion, does this paint actually look decent? I have been very disapointed with the so-called 'chrome' paint, up to now. The ones that I have tried all look a muddy silver colour.
Colin Lindsay
No idea!! I found that pic on the Net as it had the shiniest top of any. Any I've tried, like you, dried to a dull silver finish. The best I've seen, for any kind of metallic finish, was Cold Galvanising spray paint, which at least dried to a brighter silver.

They are often a std 60 degree seat, used on many many cars. Otherwise they could be a flat seat, or even curved. While you are restoring the car, I strongly recommend changing the wheel studs from the weedy 3/8 size to M12. M12 are very common, used by about half the cars on the rod today. And Freelander studs are a good fit (though you need to find the version where the threaded section d=goes almost to the bottom, some leave unthreaded shank which can stop wheels being fully tightened http://www.tssc-devon.org.uk/technical/18-wheel-stud-upgrade.html Back to nuts. I have used ford M12 nuts on my alloys, which are 60 degree taper. I can still use steel wheels too. If they are a different fitting, have a look here, they list just about everything available http://www.grayston.biz/wheelnutmenu.htm
AlanT
Thanks everyone. Appreciate your recommendations. That yoghurt pot idea is great! ive found wheel nuts from Steve at speedshack.co.uk Steve’s excellent and has also put me in touch with Mike at supaspin for centres.
