johny
Youre right so they should be done nice and slowly unless of course you want to test for cracking in your front vertical links๐

Got that t-shirt, fortunately not far from home, got back on my drive in reverse on three wheels and a trolley jack, neighbour guiding the jack. Peter Truman
Early 70โs saw the wife doing it on my Vitesse nearly ripped the tyres off, since then always did 3 point turns or reversed, I think itโs called mechanical sympathy! The 3.27:1 ratio is ideal for the torquey 2.5 litre engine. The weakness of the original Triumph diff has been mentioned in previous posts. Paul Hughes at 2Spec built me a 3.27 diff using a Blackline limited slip diff, which should overcome the weakness of the original. Nigel
DVD3500
Good to know as my car likely have 100 to 110 lb/ft of torqueโฆ

DVD3500
Is Blackline and aftermarket supplier or a way of indicating a certain year of production or something?
Steve P
Blackline as far as I know is a Chinese copy of a Quaife unit. S
Nigel Clark
The Blackline limited slip diff in my GT6 is an aftermarket product, working on the principle of rising helical gears. Nigel
DVD3500
Quote rising helical gears Sounds like an ancient Greek war machine... ๐ As I said, I am mildly concerned that the mods we are doing (Like a said, about 100BHP/110 Lbft) may be too much for a standard 1500 gearbox/diff as well as wanting easier higher speed (50 mph and up) cruising. BUT... I might get a lead foot from time to time... I don't want the added complexity of an overdrive for a number of reasons and I was thinking a 3.27 ought to be a good ratio but not sure it can handle the torque... ย
johny
Those figures are very similar to a standard GT6 and your single rail box, especially without OD, is potentially stronger so it should last as long as Triumph originally designed for....
