  1. KitKat foil and an amalgam filling. Loverly.
  2. Hi, sacrificial Anodes on boats & platforms work a treat. Buried pipelines work great with impressed current, like having a battery connected to a car chassis, work well with monitoring. So if you drive your car underwater or underground & get the current flow correct you will have zero corrosion. Not practical for a car? Cheers, Iain.
  3. Hi Pete, Are you talking about HT electrode corrosion or body corrosion? Would be interested in any available data that confirms that. Cheers, Iain.
  4. Hi, anybody tried to fit stag rear lights on a Spit1500? I think they would look very good with a clear lens. The clear lens would enhance the brightness of the rear lights. The Stag rear units are longer and the outside curve is different. The different cut-outs and screw holes are easy to sort, even for me. Thinking of buying a 3D printer to make an adaptor to allow. But, It's a while since I have used solid works. Cheers, Iain.
  5. Hi, ahh, manual adjusters? My manual adjuster arrived today. The quad adjusting deal is black. Is this because it is dyed black. Maybe case hardened? Mine are always chewed up. Cheers, Iain.
  6. Ahh, read previous posts. Think I understand now. Funny. Cheers, Iain.
  7. Lost me mate. Are they not the same thing? Or, is it like a male-female thing? Cheers, Iain.
  8. There is always a Bu* if you run out of Ars*...... Sorry, don't understand. Cheers, Iain.
  9. Only if required to get the job done.
  10. Hi, " Silicon brake fluid readily traps air and is not to be used with ABS systems." From the internet. I do not know of any Triumphs with ABS. My Clutch runs DOT 5 with no problems. My brakes ran DOT 4 with no problems. They did run DOT 5 with no problems but Mr GT decided it was bad and changed it to DOT 4 while upgrading front callipers. Around 6 years ago. Now my rear slave has died. Age I believe. Not helped by Yorkshire Triumph adjusting the rear shoes so they generated an abundance of heat when I left their garage. Shhmoking! Once brakes are all sorted. DOT 5 is my choice. Cheers, Iain.
  11. Hi, The Trakrite makes sense to me. So I bought one. Bump-steer; can this not be eliminated by having the bottom wishbones parallel to the ground by using adjustable spring height dampers? Cheers, Iain.
  12. Hi Clive, What tyre size you have? Cheers, Iain.
  13. Hi, Sorry, I can't help with the settings you are looking for. I will also be interested in the settings that will soon be offered to you. Some additional info may be required; Original steel wheels or aftermarket? If aftermarket what ET? I used 185/60/13 tyres many moons ago and found the 10mm drop in ride height a pain over speed bumps. The 4% increase in speed reading made the car faster on the speedo though. Now I am 10% slower with my chosen combo. Good luck, Iain.

    Oil filter

Hi, From memory, the oil flow at 2000 RPM is around 3 GPM. Could a small volume filter, ie, 50mm long handle 20W oil without the bypass valve opening? I guess picking one with no bypass might be a good choice especially when mounted vertically with the inlet at the top? I can see the point of not mounting the filter upside-down as in my install. My HOF200 is mounted vertically with the bottom at the top. I cannot move it from this angle as I have a tap-off point feeding the front bearings. I have no pressure gauge fitted & I have no noise on start-up. I do have an unknown noise sometimes, I assume its something to do with the starter motor pinion? Would be interesting if somebody could measure the DP across the filter at start-up. I believe there are pick-up points to facilitate this. Could be a way to judge if the filter needs changing before an oil change? No idea of numbers. Additionally, from what I am told; FRAM oil filters are crap. Cheers, Iain.
  15. Hi Pete, Are you saying that 21st-century brake hydraulics are much different to 70's systems? Cheers, Iain.
  16. Hi, I would have thought that the dynamic absolute pressure inside a "sealed" master cylinder was influenced more by temperature than wear or movements of slaves? Most caps I have seen did have a pinhole but I suspect the flow thru is restricted by the skins & seals as Pete says. Cheers, Iain.
  17. Hi Pete, That's a valid point especially when the electric fan/s are the low power types where the total power consumption is less than 150 watts or so. Most of the ones on EBay are marked at 200% of true power. The 120-watt ones for example only pull 5 amps. An additional bonus of a correctly sized and positioned e-fan is that it can run when the engine is not running, helping keep things cool prior to a restart. To respond to the original question: A viscous coupled fan would be my choice. Cheers, Iain.
  18. Hi, One reason that an electric fan beats mechanical fan. Once the 72 to 98 thermostat is fully open, & your car is moving much above 30MPH, it does not maker much what & where the fan blows air. Cheers, Iain.
  19. Hi Dave, I suspect that the ~3-watt figure is at greater than 5% distortion? Cheers, Iain.
  20. Hi Dave, Thanks for the explanation. Resonance would be > 100MHz? Fit another D_Cap. Cheers, Iain.
  21. Hi, copper plug leads are a source of radio interference. They provide faster rise-times than resistive is my understanding. Not heard before about resonance, reflected waves & causing of greater stress with copper leads fitted. Please explain. Cheers, Iain.
  22. Hi, Is anybody able to send a sample of oil to Milers that has done more than 2K and not drinking it? Would be good to see a classic oil test results? Cheers, Iain.
  23. Ahh, the cleaner 30 quid option I now think. LOL.
  24. Hi Darren, Envious of all the clean nice parts. So bendy curly rubber convoluted tube/pipe it is? Cheers, Iain.
  25. That angle is less than ideal. Long curly hose with a loop would work fine & look Kak. A bit like an engine driven cooling fan. Reweld the aluminium? loop looking an easy option. Cheers, Iain.
