  1. I went for Girling NOS on slave , brake and Master Cylinders . Not the cheapest option by far. Paul
  2. For insulation I used Silent Coat effective and cheaper than most . Heat up with heat gun to get pliable . Cut with scissors and a wallpaper seam roller to “iron” over the contours . Paup

  6. Hi Pete . Plastic fan fitted . The temp gauge is not standard and think it’s called a thermo gauge and measures in degrees and “normal” is 80 to 90 . Came with the Vitesse and modern . Paul
  7. Driving my Vitesse have no issues with heating issues . However in queues the gauge creeps up and one time queuing for 20 mins the gauge went to 115, the outside temp was in the mid 20’s c . For peace of mind if caught on motorways , dual carriageways etc considering a fan with a manual switch for these situations . Does a fan impede the airflow , effectiveness of the rad ? What size , make would suit . Your opinions appreciated . Paul

  9. Hi Badwolf if we are talking about the same draught excluder have to disagree as the adhesive tape is useless . I remove the tape and use contact glue . Works for me Paul
  10. If you use draft excluder , peel off the self adhesive tape ( bit of a faf to get it off ) then seal with good contact glue like Bostik Paul
  11. I had the dreaded slivers issue and took several carb strip downs to cure then the fake R9 started to melt internally and the resulting sludge blocked the carbs . Paul

  13. Just measured my spare handbrake cable from Canleys 171cms long . Threaded section 5.5cms Paul

  16. I’ll pass on this but will gladly advise on what is required , costing and how to’s and more important avoiding mistakes I made . For the headliner you will need access to a sewing machine . I used one of the old Singer machines which worked fine . Your access hole is approx 30” x 30” ? Paul
  17. Already started on the next one for my son and his MGB GT. This will be a challenge as it doesn’t have a sunroof at present . What’s the best tool to cut the roof ? Paul
  18. Finally finished a new replacement sunroof and headlining . First one I’ve done and pleased with the result. If anybody needs any guidance more than happy to post how to do’s . This will ensure you don’t make every mistake known to man as I’ve got the T shirts . The headlining came from Pete Lewis . Paul
