  6. Hi Pete I’ve found 2 bulk head door bolts that have stripped on my Vitesse . I’ve never used a tap n die set before though looking to go down this route . Is it best for me to go down the metric route ? I see plenty of tap n die sets on Fleabay at low prices . Is there a brand I should be looking at . Paul
  7. Hi Phil , I rebuilt my rotoflex setup on my mk2 Vitesse a couple of years ago and had difficulty in achieving the correct endfloat . I purchased mine from http://www.leacyclassics.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Shims+&cat= . My situation was I needed 18 thou of shims which would have been 6 shims . From memory I purchased a 10 thou shim from them . Hope this helps Paul
  8. I haven’t used Owatrol but can recommend AutoGlym vinyl and rubber . Used it on the sunroof of my Vitesse , brings it up nicely . Recently tried it on the dash and door trim of our Hyundai I20 , and it was nothing short of miraculous, restored to showroom condition . Then tried on our front door which is a composite, again brilliant especially as the door was faded in the sunlight . Paul
  9. There's a YouTube Video of a guy spraying a Spitfire Boot lid , no protective clothing apart from a pair of rubber gloves and a face mask ( not airfed ) spraying metallic 2 pack . He does call himself the Incompetent Restorer though . Paul
  10. Yes Colin you are correct . I have used the top screw hole to retain . I should have used the “shiny “ one. This is confirmed by the white patch which is visible on the bracket . The holes on this bracket don’t line up . On the passenger side there is only 1 hole drilled instead of 3 Paul

  19. Looking to add a high level rear brake light to sit on the rear shelf of my mk2 Vitesse Saloon. Looking at grey smoked or black so not really visible until used . Saw one following a classic at a recent show and until the brakes were used it wasn’t visible . I asked the driver and he said it came off an mx5 but couldn’t remember which model. Fleabay has some though not mx5 so asking if anybody can assist with more info Paul

  23. Rear Wing Pusher Outer , the principle can used to secure and fix A to B posts and could be used in body tub spread by narrowing the B posts . The turnbuckle principle allows for increasing or decreasing or fixing a gap Paul
  24. None whatsoever , I needed to remove the under seal as there are some repairs necessary to the wing by the bonnet locks . The rust is sitting happily underneath the seam all the way along . Plan is to strip the underside of the bonnet, repair where necessary , treat the rust with Bilthamber Deox Gel . Paint with epoxy mastic undercoat from Bilthamber , then paint with cellulose code 66 Valencia Blue and overspray with Bilthamber Dynax UC which is transparent . The underseal is very dry and crumbly , still a pig to get off though and will need a solvent or similar to get back to original surface Paul
