  6. I agree with above, it will be a hell of lot worse when the grinder has been in there, sorry Richard Tony.
  7. Hi Kevin, Dont bother as they dont work anyway. Disconnect hand brake cables, make sure cylinders slide ok, then adjust the self adjusters by hand untill you can just get the drum on.Then refit the cables to the levers. This is the only way you will get proper brake adjustment And it works every time. Tony.
  8. I will keep my fingers crossed Pete Enjoy the telly...... Tony.
  9. Beautiful area Mark, a shame Morton is always busy especially market day Tuesday. Tony.
  10. Just a thought Pete, but is the quill shaft bearing noisy? A pal did the same job and changed the bearing for no reason other than prevention. 12mths later quill shaft bearing so noisy you would not believe Fitted an old quill shaft hsg and brg that was years old because it was that bad..... Still on 4yrs later. the new brg was GKN so not poo. Just a thought. Tony.
  11. Hi Sam, welcome to the forum, nice looking motor as well Tony.

    Oil filter

I dont think there is a lot of difference, but do you need three? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-MONTEGO-1-6-Oil-Filter-84-to-92-Bosch-GFE180-Genuine-Quality-Replacement/232409912115?epid=1330712186&hash=item361cb5d333:g:CmUAAOSwr8xZ7lXC:rk:7:pf:0 £4-90p each for Bosch units inc postage is not bad. Tony.
  17. I see, i was just wondering if you had just to prove a point that Pete and myself made I am sure your brakes will be spot on now Tony.
  18. Hi Mark, Did you have to release the handbrake cables to get them back on to the levers? Tony.
  19. Sorry Mark, i dont understand algebra.............
  20. It depends how old they are Neil. You should have the mot guy try to start my 100e ford pop a few years ago, and then find 1st gear..... Hilarious...... Tony
  21. Is one a "fly off" lever Ian? That may be the difference, but not sure. Tony.
  22. I did my mates GT6 rear brakes the same as myself and Pete say and he can now lock the back wheels with his handbrake..... Tony.
  23. That sounds like a plan...... But always disconnect the handbrake cables before adjusting the footbrake Mark, or they wont be adjusted right...... Hence the poss reason for poor handbrake. This problem affects a lot of cars not just Triumphs. Even with so called self adhusters. Tony.
  24. With the brake test only marginal, have the brakes been adjusted correctly? ie with both handbrake cables disconnected, and do the cylinders slide on the back plate? If so the brakes should still work ok, It's just puzzelling me a bit...... Tony.
  25. I did think of that, but was thinking more about quality than anything else. Tony.
