  1. Hello Darren I am glad you put the dimension of the over drive linings on here as I was wondering about mine. I have measured it now and it is 0.288" to 0.290" and looks in good condition so can go back in with no real worries Thank's Roger
  2. Hello Darren This is how I did mine and will do again as you can test the pressure and adjust if necessary if was a TR etc it will be to high http://buckeyetriumphs.org/technical/jod/JOD4/JOD4.htm £30,000 miles ago but out again for oil leaks I will fit all new bearings, o/rings and seals and to gearbox Its all in bits all over the bench every bit removed and cleaned. Just waiting for some parts Roger ps I have a gauge if you want to borrow it?
  3. 4. Hello Chris Is this the type you want? It is 15" diameter and about 4" offset It is not in perfect condition as you can see but I expect a light rub down and repaint with a suitable paint would have looking like new There are a couple of small cracks but nothing to worry about. PM me with an offer if you want it(less than Fleabay ones) Roger
  5. Hello Mark I think you can change the front studs with the hub on but the rear are a bit difficult if you leave the studs at their full length They foul the back plate with the hub on (do you will not want to take the hubs off) So you either shorten them a bit so you can just wiggle them in at an angle or drill a hole in the back plate I just shortened them just play with one by taking a bit at a time off until you can wiggle it in That's what I did and still leaves plenty of thread Roger Ps just checked and it gives 9 to10 full threads in the nut which will be 13.5 to 15 mm off thread(1.5mm pitch) I was always told after you pass the diameter of the nut there is not much extra gain Check the chamfer on the new studs is the same or they will catch the slave cylinders If the are genuine l/r you should be ok but I have seen some that are thicker heads L/r ones are usually 12.9 grade I think?
  6. Hello All I would not buy a car without one! it will do next to Bugger all for economy and there is not enough room in the boot ! Take less clothes etc Roger
  7. Hello Pete I should be ok with my OTT ones? at 73 years old! Roger
  8. Hello all They are made from Aluminium Bronze I can not remember which spec but it looked fine to me and said it was used for bearings etc Just one on the clutch side would probably do as other side is no load (I suppose the 6 cylinder puts a bit more load on them as the clutch must be stronger)and it does seem as its the 6's that drop them! Roger ps this is how I did mine(Spitfire) a bit OTT but I could!
  9. Taste buds gone? I used to make various wines and beers and cider most needed lemonade in them!(from what ever we had!) But on the upside I went to bed on my hands and knees(kidneys still seem to work!) Roger
  10. Hello All How about this one to go with your Turkey? https://www.sterlingproducts.co.uk/screenwash-apple--cranberry-scented-921-p.asp Roger
  11. Hello All Now if they did a nice Castrol R with a hint of clutch and brake linings that would get my vote! I used to put a few drops of Castrol R in my lawn mower to relieve the boredom! Roger

  13. Hello Paul I had one fitted to Spitty for 4+ years fuse sounds about right and relay not needed I put my put my pump on the flat baulk head by the washer bottle as to the warning light no need if it trips you will soon know as the engine will stop! mine has never tripped even when hitting a big bump do will if you give it a good knock with a soft hammer I also put a push on push off switch in the glove box as a antitheft device and to turn it off if you want power but no pump(timing etc) Roger
  14. Hello All Here we go on the slippery slope in to bling (but that's just boys and toys) I say do what you like but use them! and maybe thrash them now and again(the wheels will fester and tyres will die of old age) but go for it! But just use them and tour in foreign lands and I have to say they will not notice the BLING wheels! just the nice old car! Roger
  15. Hello All How about these ? all sizes available https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-joint-Car-Boat-Motor-Transmission-Shaft-Coupling-Coupler/382529033435?hash=item591081d4db:m:mLsUl-k4gRSYgCsxPMBiEnA:rk:1:pf:0 For about £7 got to be worth a punt? What size is the carb spindle? just order the nearest below and open up to suit and use the standard size for connecting rod! Roger
  16. Paul Just buy from the club or a good supplier (gates etc) I would not touch the rest with a barge pole anymore(once bitten etc) If it look too good and cheap to be true! you know the rest? Roger
  17. Hello All I had some hose like that on Spitty and after 1 year I could smell petrol and the outer was cracking and it had gone soft(its gone rock hard now its dried out! I used Gates Barricade the fuel injection type(Spitty has fuel injection) It is marked with name and type and multi fuel and bio fuel compatible etc You get what you pay for? but we all try to save the pennies! so it cost me more in the end and I could have lost the car if it burst(this is marked 225psi !!!) Roger
  18. Hello Just as all the TR6,s You just have to get the nearest you can! A bit advanced gives either more torque or is it top end and late is opposite! Roger
  19. Hello All I have no idea who made it but I have one spare if anybody wants one?(for a reasonable price) It was only changed because the new inlet runners on the fuel injection fouled the 1 and 4 pipes. It is a much better one tha the one I fitted(thicker guage tube)so does not get so hot! I have had to lag the new one and it still smells hot! Roger
  20. Hello Paul I like the fag hanging out of his mouth(just like the old days including doctors?) Roger
  21. Hello Mark I have the 063 type fitted and as said it fits in the battery box and is a bigger capacity and usually cheap as it is a more common battery. Look for eurocar parts or halfrauds to have a sale or these people are often good https://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=063 Roger
  22. I have done on several Triumph differentials usually when overhauling them but is possible to do from under the car. Just drill in the center of the casting area that was intended for it, as for what thead to use I did mine 1/4 bsp but any thead would do as long as you have a bolt of the right size. You can swill any swarf out by just pouring some paraffin into the filler hole. I fit a magnet into my drain plug so it you are unlucky and shead a tooth it would be caught so hopefully you could get home. Roger
  23. Hello All An update on the out come. This is the latest offer I had said yes to the refund but it was not so much about the money but the safety aspect! Hi Roger, We have now had an update from the supplier. They have examined two shafts in their workshop and for both, the yokes were firmly attached to the shaft. They agree that the pinning could be more substantial and will discuss this with their supplier. Furthermore, we and our supplier have had no other notifications of similar problems from our customers. We are not aware of any other suppliers for this part, so we cannot supply anything different. The shafts are now out of the 12 month warranty period, but in this instance we would be happy to provide a refund which would be £69.50 + VAT per shaft, which is £166.80. If this is acceptable, please could you let me know and also how your would like us to make the refund. Regards, Paul. They are sending the refund but have asked were I purchased the new ones as they are always on the look out for better products! A bit more information I spoke to Fitchetts to check it was ok to tell the other supplier were I purchased them and he said that was ok and thanked me! But the interesting bit he said they are made in Birmingham! that gives me more confidence than China or India (escaped Brummie) Roger ps anyone want 2 driveshafts with sliding yokes?
  24. Hello All I am not going to say any more in public until I hear back the supplier and his/her supplier you all know what I think of the product and I agree with most of your comments but I like living outside prison and still owning a house etc But watch this space as they say I want answers the money is of interest it is the safety of all of us that is more important! Are there any legal people on this forum who would give a bit of advise off line? in case it gets nasty/serious? Roger
