  1. This is who I got mine from, you can even specify the post office that issued it. still had to do my own perforations though πŸ˜’ https://www.miniphernalia.co.uk/15-replica-tax-discs
  2. They'll even measure them to make sure they are to standard!
  3. Lets just say 143 holes. That has to be at least a double Scotch lost
  4. Some people want everything done for them, thinking about it -yes they should. Think of the drinking time I'll miss having to punch them all . . . .
  5. Yes I know, I could be persuaded but I can find enough excuses reasons why not, such as availability here of the parts, cost. I am sure I know a man that could do the work though . . . .Must ask him this spring. It'll be a good reason for a drive over to his place and have another look round his 400(?) or so British cars he has collected over the years.
  6. Good question, I wondered myself - see there are two of us who are wimps here. Maybe its like when the car bounces on a bumpy road, but less so . . .when I think I'm pushing it a bit I look in the rear view mirror for :- 1. Nasty smoke from the exhaust 2. Bits of the car that have fallen off 😱
  7. Yes Done Assuming red line at 5500 - is that correct? This gives :24, 42, 65 and 4th at 90. Which ties in with what I had, great minds think alike & fools, well lets forget that bit. 90, as we all know is a theoretical figure but not that much above Triumph's claims πŸ™„. I'm not sure my heart would stand pushing it to those levels too often, but occasionally when the need/desire strikes . . . Question asked, question answered. Thanks to all
  8. I'm too mean to buy and fit a rev counter, πŸ€‘, but would be interested to know what the max speeds are in the first 3 gears of a standard 13/60, the handbook gives max power and max torque at 'X' rpm but I'm interested in the top speeds. I've done a calculation but would like the clever ones on the forum to give a second opinion. Thanks guys.

    New Year

I did this morning. Spring like weather. Flying jacket : on Woolly hat : on Gloves : on Hood : down Ignition :on Blast off! Well more like a relaxed cruise on the empty roads at about 60mph, well ok then there were bits when it 'crept' up a bit more. 2022 off to a good start!

    New Year

Ok, so has 2021 really actually gone? I don't trust it! I'll give 2022 the benefit of the doubt and look forward to a year way better than the last one, not just for me but everyone! Happy, healthy and fun New Year to all
  12. All I can say is that I sit here in front of my screen and have a great time, fun moments, educational sessions and, yes, occasionally slightly annoying ones. All this passes without any problems from spammers etc., so I forget about those on the other side of the screen putting untold hours of hard work in so I can do all the above. 'Chapeau bas' to you and I hope you get to enjoy 2022
  13. Yes, the sooner we get past this year and into a better one next year the happier I'll be. 2 fois plus de joie 0 souci 2 fois plus de bonheur 2 fois plus de satisfaction. Meilleurs vΕ“ux, bon santΓ©!
  14. The 1923 tax disc shows the road tax paid as Β£12, which according to a site I've just looked at on the web is over Β£760 now.
  15. When my eyes instinctively logged on to low bake I immediately thought cooking. Now I'll all depressed and will have to have some biscuits with my tea πŸ˜’
  16. You have a very low opinion of the human race. Not saying you're wrong just saying. . .
  17. wife caught me out today! Got back with the shopping and put the bags in the 'cave' prior to sorting while she dealt with the stuff for the fridge. She found the bag with the 3 bottles of Scotch . . .OOPS! (it was on promo last day tomorrow)
  18. The other & cheaper solution is to drill a small hole in it. 3mm I think, in the correct part of the rim.
  19. Now the secret is out! 😱
  20. Yes, used to see that quite often way back when I still lived in England. They would drive on the dual carriageway at a bit below the legal limit with a queue behind not daring to overtake. I used to! Once on my Triumph 650cc I was followed out of Sheffield by a police car, I stuck to the legal limit on the 30 and 40 stretch then when it got to the 'unrestricted' opened it up to 70. They overtook and pulled me in to ask why I had suddenly accelerated after going 'slowly'. My reply was simply, the limit has changed . . .
  21. My '68 build 13/60 had white visors and black brackets and rear view mirror bracket when I bought it.
