  1. I have been through at least 2 MOT's with seized passenger side slave.
  2. Hi, How can water-pump pulley diameter have any effect on alternator/generator RPM? I guess the earlier 200 model was prone to cavitation. 5 1/4 reduces pump speed by 25%? 200 would provide better cooling until it ever cavitates. Cheers, Iain.
  3. Hi, I will fit a water temperature gauge one day. hands and sense of smell will do for now.
  4. Hi Dave, My reasoning is better in the winter as cabin is warmer & in the summer the heat rejection is greater as the delta/difference across the radiator is greater. Once its open it is open. Cheers. Iain.
  5. I would fit the highest temperature one I could find. Add a small breather hole if not present to aid air removal.
  6. Hi, As most car single DIN units are at best 4 X 14 watts RMS, an Amplifier is required. Add another amplifier in bridge mode to drive a single Bass speaker. By taking the low frequencies away from the standard speakers distortion will drop at high levels. If you listen to AM or only play MP3's then don't waste your money! Cheers, Iain.
  7. Cyclists should dress like they are playing golf or going to church in Africa.
  8. From one website: These bulbs are CE and ROHS approved. Our bulbs are all high quality and made to our own demanding specifications. We believe in fair pricing and are confident you will not get a better price unless you want to compromise on the quality or life of your bulbs. 24 Month Warranty against Manufacturing Fault Due to the recent change in UK MOT regulations, the use of LEDs in halogen headlight reflectors is not now acceptable for UK MOT's despite these having excellent MOT standard beam patterns. *************************
  9. Chinese Electric/Electronics. The spacing of CE is different. Anybody have a picture of the mythical CE marking? CE & E marked are not same..
  10. I have never seen a H4 LED that was E Marked.
  11. Glad I have sealed LED headlamps. Exempt. Happy days.
  12. Hi Guppy916, I saw the foam & the price before I realised I do not need the precision cut piece. I'm going to use a door brush draft excluder to sweep & seal. Is this what you used the Armaflex for? My flaps only need to be in one of two positions. Demist & floor or Demist only. Was hoping to finalise it this week but Covid prevents me from leaving the house & going to work to retrieve the cover. LOL.
  13. Happy days. I have rolls of self adhesive neoprene at work. Compresses to 1.5mm with minimal pressure as the OEM foam. Cheers, Iain.
  14. Hi, Does the gasket between the box and bulkhead need to be this shape? Will not a rectangle with a hole in the centre suffice? Cheers, Iain.
  15. Hi, Just received the 1 1/2" outlet heater box. The 1 3/4" looks like the one to use as it has air guides? around the drum fan. From my two samples I have, the 1 3/4" demists better I guess. Cheers, Iain.
  16. Hi, I have overdriven my fan with success. I cannot remember the electrical figures but were low compared to a 2002 206CC fan that pulls 20Amps @ 12V, around 1/4 Kilowatt! I don't fancy drilling out the impeller as I can already increase the RPM of the OEM one. I'm after more flow with less RPM. Has anybody fitted a central locking "solenoid" to control the flap? I only need floor well & demist. Off will be demist. A 20mm stroke seems enough. I have thought about a bristle brush for the flap. Cheers, Iain.
  17. Hi, Refurbing a second hand heater box. Many questions to ask. I have a 1/3/4" & a 1 1/2" arriving in a few days. I want to make one serviceable for swap with existing unknow demister ID. First off, What are people using for replacement for the material fitted to the metal airflow "blade/flap". The material that makes a seal on the sweeping part? Has anybody fitted a central lock motor to control the flap? Three positions possible. Has anybody successfully installed a modern available blower motor? Replacing a 40 year old brushed motor is not a bad idea. How do you bleed the air from the top of the matrix? Cheers, Iain.
  18. So the "correct " offset on 5.5J is 16mm? What is it for 5J? Always thought 4.5J were 20? 22mm offset? Cheers, Iain.
  19. Yes, PVC is the worst followed by; glycol smell, clutch material smell, brake friction material smell, gearbox oil smell, oil smell then petrol smell. Fun to smell at night prior to losing all the lights.
  20. He states that a 17A fuse blows at 35A. A 35A fuse will not blow at 30A. I cannot see any thing new there? I see a fuse marked Blow amps which is an odd spec to carry when no time implied.
  21. Hi, I heard a myth about Triumph glass fuses having different ratings to other similar fuses. Always thought that a fuse rating was its continuous rating @ a specific temperature, plus around 10% for an ATO fuse. Go above 110% & it will blow. ms to hours, depends on the design curve. Any body have the curves for a "Triumph" fuse? Suspect nothing unusual. Headlamps are fused in a Triumph? I thought only the flash was? Cheers, Iain.
  22. I've got some Mcsomething? locking nuts on my car. Key secured in car as I suspect a removal will damage the wheel. The MGF wheels are a nice JPS Gold Colour I hope.
